The Radical Left's Stranglehold on Public Schools

I'm sorry, WB, is this becoming too difficult for you?

Well, my memories are a little vague concerning the rumor mill from 35 years ago. I know one of the actresses I was talking about was not sexually active at all. One had a boyfriend she ended up marrying, so there could have been some fooling around there, but not much when we were so young. The rest.....well.....nope, no idea at all. None were obviously promiscuous that I recall.

So you think they should fight for it by keeping the status quo with the public union stranglehold on our schools???

I didn't see the unions having a stranglehold on the schools. I think you place too much emphasis on the unions.

I have a great many teacher friends and the reasons schools in some areas are failing is too complicated and more than I wish to post right now at this time, but teachers hate teaching to the test. They have far too many disciplinary problems raging from kids who are tired or hungry, whose parents aren't involved, or who work two jobs, children who are abused, have learning disabilities, family divorce and sometimes mental or emotional illness. They have to deal with all these modern problems and also teach.

Unions may be responsible for retaining some poor teachers, but generally most teachers are still good teachers.

Thank you, WB.

See, one of the chief points I was trying to make in the first place, is that the Left has feminized our public school system. The fact is, had a male teacher did the same thing in reverse, every feminist in the country would've raised hell. To demean someone, means to lower his status or reputation. Assigning a juvenile male a female body part in a school play is demeaning, regardless of what your idiot leftist training has taught you. Read the article I posted. it may open your eyes.... but probably not. ;)

As we all know any good actress worth their salt fully researches the part they're going to play. It's all about professionalism. ;)

any good actor/actress love a good challenge

it makes up for boring roles or roles played too long

i used to attend and later teach improve workshops where actors/actresses would go to shed any part played too long, besides it is also fun

Thank you, WB.

Not sure where the sexual activities of my friends fits into that, but ok.

I still do not see anything demeaning in playing a bodypart in a class play. I think most students would be terrified to get up in front of an audience any way.

I read the OP, and see it as an over-reaction. I also see your labelling of anyone who disagrees with as leftist idiots to be hilarious.

This OP points out several things, calling democrats the radical left is similar to calling all republicans Hitler. It makes no sense. The OP is also a modern American distraction from the failure of America to honor and support education and educators.

Education is a threat to any ideology that attempts to control society and its thoughts, the right in America today wants not only to control education they want to make it up as Creationism and their constant revisions of history demonstrate. Right wingers act as if education in the classroom is an end rather than a beginning, all the wingnuts such as Steyn and Blumenfeld went through the same education that was supposed to turn them into something they loathe? Why didn't it and what is their motivation today? Instead of improving education as other nations such as Finland have done, the right only points fingers. It's what they do best.

A key to any stable democratic society is education, that the right wants to end that only means they want to control it not foster it.

"Everyone agrees the United States needs to improve its education system dramatically, but how? One of the hottest trends in education reform lately is looking at the stunning success of the West's reigning education superpower, Finland. Trouble is, when it comes to the lessons that Finnish schools have to offer, most of the discussion seems to be missing the point.

The small Nordic country of Finland used to be known -- if it was known for anything at all -- as the home of Nokia, the mobile phone giant. But lately Finland has been attracting attention on global surveys of quality of life -- Newsweek ranked it number one last year -- and Finland's national education system has been receiving particular praise, because in recent years Finnish students have been turning in some of the highest test scores in the world."

The Repub solution to any and all problems, from Social Security to medical care to schools, is to let the poor and disadvantaged suffer. That's their universal solution. Their only solution. To hell with the elderly, the ill, the children.....it's the same story.
