Surely you are aware that pence along with quite a few other people are knee deep in the muck of Trumps crimes. He was a active participant along with numerous others.

Oh, I got it, Trump asking a foreign leader, desperate for the US aid which was approved by Congress and mysteriously held up by Trump for four months, isn't leverage when you ask that same leader to do me "a favor," especially when you have nongovernmental entities running around previously hammering home the point to that leader of what is expected of him. No leverage, nothing at all, just an everyday occurrence
