The Party of NO gets called out!

Lets see, democrats control the house and they want to whine about Republicans.

View attachment 478

Grow the fuck up, Web....the distortion that the Dems control the house was laid to rest over a year ago when it was pointed out that they NEVER had the slam-dunk number of votes to shut down the Party of NO. What's a fascinating tale of denial is how the GOP pretends that all their obstructionist voting blocks never existed and/or have no real effect....yet then squeal like pigs when the Dems try to exercise their majority power!

Obama needs to wake up and realize that you cannot be a centrist seeking compromise with ideological fanatics hell bent on your demise. Weiner called the GOP out for what their actions result in...delays to help the very people that are part of the flag waving done regarding 9/11.

Socr I am so sick and tired of the partisan shit going on in DC that I'm tempted to vote against all incumbants on general principle and to send them a message that will put the fear to god in them.

Sadly though the only thing that would accomplish is to play into the hands of the far right and we need the Dixies, Webways, and Bravos, et, el, running this country like we need a collective hole in our head. I'm at a complete fucking loss.

I don't have a problem with the Obama administration. His political naivete and his lack of a consistant message are frustrating but he's performed fairly well at starting the heavy lifting of digging us out of the Bush mess.

Congress, on the other hand, I could take a flame thrower too.

I hear ya, Mott. But I'm just glad that for ONCE someone had the cojones to call out the Party of No and NOT let them get away with lying via the neocon media bullhorn.

This response is from the Ohio State board.... is it wrong?

More than $38 Billion (exclusing the costs of the cleanup of the building) has been sent to New York for 9/11 survivors to date. I sympathize with these people and believe they should be helped with medical costs, but why is this not now a state issue? Feinburg distributed the monies and there were cutoff dates to apply. This new legislation in Congress only applies to people who did not apply by the cutoff date, which in some cases I would say are valid if it is a cancer caused by the rubble, but it also opens up claims for the next 30 years. It was a horrible accident, incredible funds have been donated and dispersed, why were no funds out of the $38 Billion kept in reserve? And why aren't the tax revenues of NYC and New York state being tapped?

You don't need a single republican to pass the legislation, they do now because of the arcane rule they decided to use that required 2/3rds...they could have pushed this legislation a year ago if they wanted to give it priority. This is political fodder.

It's kind of like saying you are going to eliminate police unless you vote for a tax increase. No one wants to deny 9/11 victims just compensation, so you bring it up now to show how mean and terrible the other side is, while you plead you will help the poor and down trodden, while never considering it important enough to pass a year ago or to appropriate monies in the HEALTHCARE bill for it, remember that comprehensive reform...this is healthcare.

Here's an example of the breakdown of the $38 billion....which is NOT the more direct compensation that the current proposal of which Weiner is railing about.completely wrong.

i watched this video on the news and heard weiners explanation and all I can say is he's full of shit. It's that kind of 'pass it at all costs' and worry about the consequences afterwards that is part of the reason this country is in such shambles.

On the contrary, the people who were NOT properly compensated for their health because it took YEARS for the courts to BS around weather their deteriorating health problems were related to 9/11 Ground Zero responding are at the point of "pass it at all costs"....they're DYING!

And just what the hell is the "all costs" that the GOP is whining and wailing about? Just what are such the amendments that the GOP needs to add at all costs least the world ends?

Weiner called it right...it's just more GOP bullshit to put as much delay and discredit to the Obama administration for the upcoming elections.

Given the GOP's obstructionist stance on programs that actually benefit the people will pandering to large corporations and the economic elite of this country, I wouldn't count those chickens yet, bunky. If Weiner doesn't kowtow to the DNC, and the teabaggers and their candidates keep shooting themselves in the foot, things might not sway back to neocon control.

Remember, idiots like Dixie were touting the same mantra in 2008.

I'm not sure why you quoted my parody of the appeal to November elections line (its not a bad line to refer to, but its often overdone), but I will say that there was not a Dem in the white house back in 2008. Mid-term elections are almost always a boon to the president, but some, such as 1994, have been an absolute rout.

Hey, time will tell...and Weiner's shot was a damned good one!

Dem Rep Anthony Weiner had enough of the GOP's "just say NO" to ANY AND EVERYTHING that comes from the Dem Party under Obama. The latest BS was the GOP holding up passing a bill that would provide funding on healthcare funding for ill 9/11 responders based on "procedural" differences....a 2/3 vote instead of majority vote that would prevent the GOP from slapping on "toxic" amendments that are against the administrations policies (as they have done continually since Obama took office).

Weiner just got tired of the bullshit...and let'em have it!

Now, if only the Dems had that fire in their belly, they'd tell the bluedogs/dixiecrats to get in line or get bent, and just follow in the spirit of Dick Cheney by telling the GOP to "fuck off"!

What's wrong with 'just saying no' to unconstitutional bills, Libby?

Pay attention.....the GOP didn't say anything about "unconstitutional", they just didn't like the FACT that the 2/3 vote proposal would prevent them from adding toxic amendments that would delay putting the original bill through....remember, the GOP doesn't object to the bill per se, they just want to hinder, obstruct and defame the Obama administration and the Dems under him any way possible....and if that means keeping funds from further medical assistance for 9/11 responders, then so be it.

They want to hinder, obstruct and defame the Obama administration because the original bill is unconstitutional.

You imbecile! Hatch's last year quote is meaningless, since a healthcare bill was passed (of which the GOP sufficiently watered down)! TFB if the GOP doesn't like their insurance lobby backers having OVERSIGHT so they don't screw over their customers or (GASP!) the working man actually gets a shot at decent healthcare that they pay for.

What Weiner is pointing out is the FACT that the current proposal to get additional aide to ailing 9/11 responders is being blocked by the GOP NOT because they don't like it, but because they want to DELAY IT or PREVENT IT via adding numerous amendments that HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BILL! Whining about "procedure" over "content" and "quality" is a lame excuse by the GOP, and Weiner called them out on it.

You'd like the his respect for the Constitution to be meaningless, but it is, and always will be, timeless.

:palm: Notice folks, that Southy just AVOIDS the FACTS regarding Weiner's call out....and instead opts for a repeat of an a-typical baseless mantra that can found in the babblings of Limbaugh or Levin or Tancreado or God knows how many other neocon pundits and parrots.

That's the "all smoke, no substance" Southern Man for ya!

President Obama advances several GOP additions to health care reform bill
March 2

Tuesday, the White House released a letter to congressional leadership from President Barack Obama which points to several GOP suggestions from last week’s health care reform summit targeted at improving the existing health care reform legislation already passed by the House and the Senate.

The four ideas mentioned by the President in the letter are to have

...random undercover investigations to help reduce fraud,
...to fund states for demonstrations of alternatives to resolving medical malpractice disputes,
...to increase Medicaid reimbursements to doctors,
...and to expand Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

These various ideas were discussed last week by a number of the Republican Senators in attendance last week, including Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, and Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming.

Now, peckerhead...how did any of these additions to the HC bill
'water it down' in any way....?
There wasn't any other GOP provisions in the ball at all....

or are you just blowing smoke out of ass again?

Yeah, we despise it, that is why we use it to try to get rights for women, blacks, gays, old and handicapped people! We hate it so much!

And please refer to this old babe as Madame Cougar!
LOL Rights for women and blacks were GOP initiatives!
