The only suprise to me about this credit mess is how badly it affected the business side.

I understood that so many individuals with huge debt were crusing for a bad time when the shit hit the fan, I did not even consider how badly it would hurt the car manufacturers and other corporations.

America was living on bad debt for many years. One example is that the car manufacturers need the American people to do furhter and further into debt to keep increasing the bottom line. Remember in the days after 9-11 when Bush incouraged you to go shopping and to use your credit cards..!

yes and I remember pappy bush doing the same thing during an earlier downturn.

Its how they view the average voter. Their only purpose is to fuel the economy for the wealthy.

It reminds of the comment Mrs Bush 41 made at the houstin stadium. Something like "this is better than they are used to". It showed just what she thought of these people. She lived in a world where it was no problem to imagine people living in absolute squaler and not wanting to do anything to improve the situation. She thought the hurricaine gave them a better life for a few days.

the little people is a common way of the supposed elite viewing those beneath them.

And thinking there is absoluting nothing one should do to improve a lot in life you think is so very deprived. Those were children she was talking about. She actually thought that children lived worse than being crowded into a open stadium every day. How can anyone be so casual about the plight of children that she imagined exsisted?

Well it is not as if they are someone you knows children...

People have multiple layers of rationalization and justification for how they are.

Typical liberal has no consideration for corporations.

Umm a downturn does require everyone to spend our way out of it. Money not circulating will worsen the problem. WTF do you bailout supporters believe? I can't figure you morons out. You supported the bailout claiming doing nothing will harm us and in the same breath you say Bush is an idiot for suggesting essentially the same thing.

Bush suggested that in the middle of a crisis caused by too much bad debt and not enough savings individuals should go out and spend, spend, spend!

You didn't get my point. Economic health depends on consumer spending. what should Bush's advice have been? Hide all your money in matress?

I guess you morons are always full of criticisms, but you never have a solution or even an alternative. Let's hear it? What's the advice we should have been given?

How about spend responsably!

Isn't that pretty much implicit? come on man, does the president have to tell you to be fiscally responsible before you actually do it? It's a joke to suggest Bush caused people to act irresponsibly.

Does he really have to tell you to spend in the first place?

Ohhh, and buy duct tape.
