The Obama rally is on

Jobless claims are down more than expected; Wells Fargo w/ a positive profit report; retail is looing better.

I'm calling a late summer/early fall recovery....

how the hell does wells fargo record a profit when they didn't make any money?

Their outlook is colored by the bailout which is only going to result in yet another burst bubble when the market realizes that the numbers are artificial.

Bubbles look really cool while you are blowing them. But this one is being blown in a storm an I fear it may not last long.

Yet the number of people continuing to receive unemployment has set a record for the 10th straight week.

Employment tends to be a lagging indicator overall as far as recoveries go.

I don't know why everyone seems to want to go out of their way to find pessimism in the #'s. I'm merely pointing out a few positive trends.

I also don't see how anything yet - in the market or elsewhere - indicates any kind of "bubble." The market was over-sold, imo, based on fears of a greater freefall than what has transpired.

and the downturn was the economy coming back down to normal. Now, with all this bailout cash dumped in to the system, the bubble is being reinflated.

and the employment as a lagging indicator goes......how many people in the job market, employed or not, base their families economy on the stock market numbers? IMO, too much attention gets focused on wall street numbers and not main street numbers, but then todays economy MUST focus on the wealthy first I guess.

Republicans should be sweating bullets about now. They've bet the house on the economy continuing to fail so they can blame it on Obama.

If however, the economy recovers, republicans would have played no hand in it and they'll be well on their way to becoming the Whigs.

Never has so much been riding on the hopes that America will fail.

I'm not trying to act like democrats didn't overly talk the economy down when Bush prosided over good numbers and call them worse than they were when they were bad.
