The NFL is killing the golden goose

Like I have said many times: this big "controversy" was on its last legs until Trump calculated that he could win political points w/ it and divide a nation further.

soo,
blaming Trump for the goons disrespecting the flag, our veterans and their sacrifice?

that should play well :rofl2:

Quick, easy question: would there be even one headline about it this week if Trump hadn't interjected himself?

Fair point. Trump did stir it up

But then that begs the question, even if what Trump did was out of line does that automatically justify their response?

It is like making excuses for violent muslimes over a cartoon of the pedophile mohumud

Isn't the left ALL about teaching "spoiled overpaid millionaires a lesson"? How ironic coming from you. Nobody WANTS to see the NFL decline. That is not my stated desire. I didn't wake up one day and ask myself, how can I tear down the NFL. I woke up to leftists infiltrating an institution I loved. I will not watch as long as they are kneeling.

No, it's not.

But since obviously believe otherwise, then it should be simple for you to retrieve a quote from someone on the left stating that it's about "teaching spoiled overpaid millionaires a lesson."

Take your time...I'll wait.

Charities, foundations, it is a behemoth, you are correct, these simple minded people who wish to see it fail have no idea how many would be impacted, Super Bowl is a bigger day for food and beverage than some holidays.

Which is why these players need to use wisdom for their timing and placement of sjw issues. Not suggesting they stop their cause or attempt silencing them...just promote their agenda on their own time, on their own dime with like-minded people. Stop taking a poop where they eat. Take all the bucks they're making and go actually construct grade schools, trade schools, colleges, charity hospitals, nursing homes, rehab centers, grocery stores, tech companies all over the nation...things they may see a real need for in their communities.

He isn't trying to fix anything, he threw gasoline on the fire. Trump doesn't know how to fix things. He sows division.

Evidently the division was sown before Trump for Kap. Trump's well within his rights and position to comment on uses of the American flag and the American Anthem. Division can be useful in order to clarify just who's who in life. It's like a team sport...root for whoever you want between the opposing teams.

Poor analogy, but ultimately, it doesn't matter if their response is "justified" when it comes to Trump's role as POTUS. Once again, he is using the position for ego, regardless of the effect on business, the economy or how divided/unified we are. And this is kind of what he does - he spots something that can create conflict and division, and help distract, and he goes for it. Not really deniable - too many times at this point.

And I don't think the NFL is unjustified. It's rare that you can get players, coaches & owners to agree about anything, but the reaction to Trump last week was pretty swift and pretty unified. You'll say it's because I hate Trump, but my reaction was basically the same - why is the President interjecting himself into a private business issue, and an old one at that? And why does he seem to care more & get more passionate about a peaceful protest among players than he does about Nazis or Puerto Rico?

Wanna see unification? Tune in Sunday.

Is it a win for America? Think of all the jobs associated with the NFL.

.. and then there are the intangibles that economists and can't seem to quantity. A greater sense of community and identity.

Nay-sayers only rely on statistics and data, dollars and cents to quantify the value of sports teams and their venues to cities and municipalities. But they keep saying the same thing, and cities keep building those venues and supporting those teams .. sometimes at tax-payer expense. Why?

Because of the things you've stated AND the intangible of a greater sense of community, identity, and pride.

Just talk to a Steelers fan and you'd feel all that. :0)
