my favored solution would be dividing the north korean land between china and south korea. Which of course would only happen after they have been taken out.

I'm not so sure about that,

This is different in that not only is the noodle doodle actually lobbing missiles capable carrying nuclear weapons on the tips, he HAS nukes.
We know their range.

Now I think the tipping point is do we have evidence that he is actually capable of arming these missiles with Nukes.
If that is the case the world would be derelict in just waiting around hoping he wont.
The man is a certified Nut, he is certified evil, certified defiant.

if he launches a nuke at anyone that is a game changer for the entire planet, we pre-empt that possibility by rendering him incapable there's really no downside given that Russia and China are on board.

I'm not totally on board the Kim is Crazy train.

Granted, he may be crazy. On the other hand, it's to Kim's benefit if the world 'thinks' he's crazy. So there's a decent chance he's just another power-grubbing dictator playing a role because it's expedient.

If we don't know the answer to that, someone should be finding out.
