It's been worsening since Clinton and Newt. I'm not pointing fingers at either side, but the end of the Cold War saw our nation divided about what direction to go next. The division has been worsening all the way to 1/6.

The fact We, the People can't agree whether the attack on the Capitol was an attack or a "peaceful protest" is proof our nation is still divided.

Exactly. Newt started it, and Republican majorities always seem to get Democrats on board when it comes to the betterment of the nation.

When Obama had the nerve to pollute the White House, it became toxic. Republicans will never allow any Democrat to have an achievement. It's Newt's playbook. In fact, on the night of Obama's first inauguration Newt was in a meeting with key republicans who came up with the plan to 'make Obama a one term POTUS'.

Whereas both parties might deserve blame, one party is clearly responsible for the gridlock as a policy. Their only policy

Your partisanship and bias is showing. Have you ever considered applying Newton's Third Law of Motion to politics? Sociology? Newt didn't operate in a vacuum. Lots of idiots in Congress and plenty of them have been Democrats.

Again, I'm not pointing fingers on this because it's a mutual division. Democrats don't want unity anymore than the Republicans. They want to win just like the Republicans.

Again, when the Democrats were in charge they gerrymandered the districts see #24 under Martin Frost for example. Obviously the people didn’t like their leadership and took the majority away from the Democrats in the Texas house. That has resulted in the Republicans redrawing the districts to better reflect the will of the people. Elections have consequences
