I never said it was. But a statistical tie is better than being down by 8 points, which is where Obama was two months ago.

I see only one moderate in the entire Republican field and though he is considered the Front Runner, I see no evidence of moderation within the republican party nor any evidence of a willingness to compromise on common ground to get things done for this nation. I'm not that unhappy with the job he has done.

We've tried moderate conservatism, it never works. We get creamed every time we go there. Don't you remember Bush's "Ownership Society?" Where his "compassionate conservatism" put more low income minority butts in homes than ever in history? Of course, you never heard the praises from liberals, they were too busy burning effigies of Bush and proclaiming him Hitler, but he spend record amounts to try and appease liberals. When the ramifications of these policies came, Democrats could point their crooked little fingers at Bush and Republicans for the housing market collapse and financial meltdown, Bush gave them everything they needed to do that. John McCain... here's a guy who Democrats praised like Colin Powell, a real "maverick" who didn't march in lockstep with the GOP! John Kerry seriously considered McCain as a VP... that's how close he was to the left! Good Ole John could be counted on to vote with Democrats more than Republicans, and was routinely seen on stage with Democrat leaders who had passed some more goofy liberal bullshit...lending his "bipartisan" support. So Republicans, wanting to 'moderate' and appease liberals, nominated this man... almost immediately, he was converted to a right-wing pariah and crucified by the left.

You don't fool us anymore, we all know the leftist liberals would love nothing more than for Romney to win the GOP nomination, it would be 2008 all over again. You probably already have your "Romney is a Racist" stories in the can. He will be battered and bludgeoned just like every Moderate we've ever put up... Moderate Conservatism does not work on Liberals!

the more the rep candidates cater to their base in hopes of gaining the nomination, the more they alienate those that vote in the general election

additionally, the more debates the reps hold, the more ammunition the candidates provide the dems for attack ads

personally, i am not in favor of attack ads but they seems to used more and more by both sides :(

the only rep candidate that i like is huntsman and he seems to have little chance of gaining the rep nomination

It wasn't McCain who was the problem so much as Palin and the prospect that she could get into power. As for the rest, I can only suggest that you were born 100 years too late.

palin and the economy elected obama, that and he had a very good campaign organization

while the reps debate many things, jobs still remains the number one concern of the voters and the reps are not making a good showing there

You're totally full of shit. The crucifying of McCain started way before he ever picked Palin. And speaking of Palin, no one even knew who she was.
