The more I watch the Republican debates...

I Would Never Watch Them!

The more I want to vote for Obama..

The only people who feel that way, wanderingbear, are the people who wanted to vote for Obama anyway.

Your point is valid Damo but there's a germ of truth to what the Bear is saying. I see only one moderate in the entire Republican field and though he is considered the Front Runner, I see no evidence of moderation within the republican party nor any evidence of a willingness to compromise on common ground to get things done for this nation. If Romney, a very capable and qualified man, obtains the Republican nomination I see him stradled with a right wing platform by his party. That provided me no incentive to vote for him. To defend Bears point. I was cracking up my wife when I watched the first two debates cause I was answering the candidates questions as they were bing asked and for the most part I was dead on. Meaning the replies were mostly canned spam. So there is some truth to Bears comment. I have huge respect for Romney but the more I see of the debate and the response of Republicans I have no hope that Romney won't be saddled with a far right agenda. So yea....the more I've seen of the Republican debates the more likely I am to vote for Obama.....but back to your point, I was leaning strongly in that direction to begin with. I'm not that unhappy with the job he has done.

I'd be surprised if many Republicans were genuinely excited about the current field of candidates. That doesn't mean they'll vote for Obama, but man, is it a weak field.

Funny shit. Wanna know why we laugh at you guys? Because we heard the exact same thing when Reagan took on Jimmy Carter. Reagan was a grade B movie actor and a dumb cowboy, etc, etc, etc.

If Gingrich gets the nomination he will carve up Obama right in front of your eyes. Obama will be reduced to jello.

The problem is I don't see a Reagan among these guys. As a guy who voted for Cindy in the last presidential election out of protest, I am once again put in a position where I am in no way excited about any of the alternatives put forth to Obama.

Funny, the same thing was said about the Dem field in 2004 and again in 2008. Hillary, like Romney, was the only viable candidate. Yet the Dems (and the country) elected a completely inexperienced Obama instead. For which we now are paying the price.

There isn't. Not even close. But since they just have to go up against Obama instead of a Clinton, they stand a pretty good chance.

Voting for Romney is voting for white Obama, and vice versa. They are no different.

On that note, WanderingBear, please tell me what exactly you like about Obama, aside from him not being a Republican. I'm really curious.

Herman Cain, who seems to know as little about this issue as he does about foreign countries whose names are a teeny bit hard to pronounce, was asked if he would authorize water boarding, which Mr. Bush banned in 2006. “Yes, I would return to that policy,” he said. “I don’t see it as torture. I see it as an enhanced interrogation technique.”

Michele Bachmann called water boarding “very effective” and said it had “gained information for our country.”

She also said Mr. Obama was letting the American Civil Liberties Union run the Central Intelligence Agency, that the United States has no place to lock up suspected terrorists and that “we have no C.I.A. interrogators anymore.”

She forgot to mention black helicopters and tin foil hats.

Pretty much everything Mr. Cain and Ms. Bachmann said was nonsense.

First of all the not being Republican is a great selling point. The second is that no one else on the left has stood up as another choice. Basically I would be voting for the lesser that two evils. But that is better then voting for out right evil.
