I strongly disagree, the Scandinavian model of socialism requires very little if no authoritarian rule. The two can and often do survive independently of each other.

Consequences are not necessarily the same thing as military action.

IN the case of Venezuela, Socialism was used by Chavez as a way to try to keep the poor on his side while he continued his authoritarian rule.

There is no American Rebellion any time soon. That's simply silly. There might be some racally related uprisings in for example Florida if people continue to get away with killing black kids by faking a self defense claim.. but that would still be far from a rebellion.

Do you know that in Scandanavia these countries are about the size of New York and they SEVERELY restrict immigration?

Now why do you think they restrict immigration? Any thoughts on that?

And why do you want to incorporate their socialist policies, yet not their i migration policies? Do you think they are racist? Xenophobic? Just flat out wrong?

that's not rebellion, that would simply be a civil race war. now, if cops keep killing more people and getting away with it, you might end up with a rebellion.

Venezuela is on fire.

Funny how right wingers love to see and hear about revolutions started by the wealthy and in support of the wealthy. This so-called civil unrest and revolution is just another attempt by the CIA and the walthy in Venezuela to overthrow the duly elected government. If this was happening in America to George Bush you wouldn't be celebrating it you would be whining and crying about it. But as long at the rich of Venezuela are revolting squashing the rebellion is government oppression. Whatever! It's all pretty standard isn't it?

The United States is much more Authoritarian than proudly socialist Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, The Netherlands.
