The Merchant of Death

Yup. Tortured myself in rehab. after shoulder surgery and my range of motion is pretty much 100%. I do have nerve damage, but numbness is better than pain.

Eventually the numbness should subside too, but it takes a whole lot longer than muscle injury. Just keep doing your exercises! I'm glad you're doing better after that kind of injury.

To honor your longer experience, I'll just ignore him henceforth and hope that he's not really Sailor, who is an asshole but also a decent human.
LOL. Sailor was a shame because he's capable of intelligent discussion, but avoids it.

TWNL hasn't tried to exhibit any sign of intelligence.

Supposedly, nerve damage doesn't heal. It's been 6 1/2 years, and the surface numbness is still there. Again...much better than pain.

I have a feeling it was from the nerve block, but nobody is fessing up to anything.

More likely you damaged the intercostal nerves when you fell. Sometimes that never heals. With 7 broken ribs you had a flail chest.

Numbness is only in the shoulder, after surgery.

I was one of a handful of patients at the surgical outpatient center. The anesthesiologist supposedly needed an ultrasound to pinpoint the nerve for the nerve block, but 3 other patients were waiting. I'm guessing the surgeon wanted to move things along, so she did it sans ultrasound.

After the numbness wore off, my neck gave me more pain than the shoulder for about a week. Bad pain. Whereas there might have been more severe numbness at first, it's still numb to the touch on the surface across the front of the shoulder.

Doesn't bother me at all. Better than pain.

I'm so happy that you're okay now. No long-COVID problems?

Thanks. I had a RHB that needed an ablation treatment....SOP is that I have a monitor under my skin for almost a year with some 2 x's a day med with check ups. I had lost a LOT of weight, but got it back now....my strength is back to standard, but I need to build the old bod up to keep away the dreaded man-boobs >shudder<. Lungs are about 85-90% decent....it'll be a year since discharge come Jan. 4th. Not bad for a 64 yr. old duffer!

Believe it or not, a combination of remdesivir and baricitinib, iverectin (without the doctors knowledge), vitamins & supplements (along with an air tube in my nose for a month!) saved the day. But the nurses and doctors were on the money...may they be blessed by whatever deity you worship!

What?!?! I am sorry to hear this, and glad you came out of it heallthy and back to your old self. This made me remember that in a few months, you and I will have known each other for 20 years, all due to the Iraq War. So happy anniversary early, guy!

Holy Crap! 20 years!!?!?! How the hell did that happen!?!?:lov1:

My friend in Vancouver fell from a first storey car park once, he was drunk as a skunk. He broke his sternum which I am told is one of the most excruciating pains imaginable.

If you ever fall, maggot, roll so you land on your wallet.

Brittney Griner released from Russian prison in swap for convicted arms dealer

Breaking news.

====================================

Should we have traded for the ex marine Paul Whelan instead?

Whelan wasn't on the table for trade so that was not possible, however, your shithead hero Trump came out the other day and said he could have traded for Whelan but he would not do it. Is that your question? Should Trump have traded for him?

Whelan is a former marine who has been in prison longer and has served his country. I'm glad Griner is coming home but Paul Whelan should be coming home first. It is sad that the price was Viktor Bout that was caught try to sell 30,000 AK 47s and 800 surface to air missiles and trying to bring down an American helicopter.

Will Putin just jail another American to eventually swap.

Bout was about to walk, he had served his time. What the fuck would we get for him then?

As far as I can tell SHE was arrested for being an American drug user. He was arrested for being an American spy trying to buy Russian secrets.

Whelan was already a criminal who was dishonorably discharged from the service for larceny and financial fraud as well as other charges. He was no American hero by any stretch and Trump claimed he could have traded Bout for Whelan but refused. Russia would NOT trade Bout for Whelan so maybe thats why Biden traded for Griner.

My hypothesis of how it all went down:

Even under Russian law, Griner should have only been fined for the tiny amount of hash oil she had, but the FSB decided to take her hostage.

The ex-marine Whelan had a Russia fetish, and I think he was just innocently interested in Russian military technology. Military geeks are like that. Somehow, FSB got wind of this and got somebody to give Whelan a flashdrive which supposedly had military specs on it. That was the take down.

Pure speculation based on what you have been told by our govt. They lie at times too. We know he went to Moscow for a friends wedding and never attended and when arrested had $80,000 in cash on him.
