The Mapping Sharia in America Project

Perhaps one should be asking why mosques are gaining in popularity.

NYC alone has more than 100, so I'm skeptical that there are *only* 1200 in the whole country. And this Kabbani character refused to name names when asked about the "80 percent of mosques are being run by "extremist ideologies”.

Shaykh Kabbani recently came into conflict with various Muslim groups including the Islamic Society of North America, CAIR and ICNA after he stated that 80 percent of mosques are being run by "extremist ideologies”. [4] Muslim organizations harshly responded, stating that Shaykh Kabbani's remarks "could have a profoundly negative impact on ordinary American Muslims.” [5] Kabbani plunged into further controversy when he accused Muslims who advise the United States about Islam as being "extremists themselves". [5] When asked during a conference whether he would name the Islamic groups he believed were "extremist", Kabbani answered, "after the program". [5] When subsequently confronted with the question during the end of the discussion, Kabbani refused to answer. [5] In a joint statement pertaining to Kabbani's accusations, several Muslim groups noted that "Mr. Kabbani has put the entire American Muslim community under unjustified suspicion. In effect, Mr. Kabbani is telling government officials that the majority of American Muslims pose a danger to our society." [5]

And yet in all the feared "negative effects" of his statements they never deny his assertion~~~because they cannot.

The "follow the money" is factual proof of who owns the mosques.

retarded rightwingers are looking for debate in a thread about sharia spreading in the US. BHAHAHAH they are dumber than I thought.

The Wall of seperation between church and state was to prevent the State from restricting religion. This has nothing to do with Abortion. If the majority want it banned for religous reasons then it should be banned. The founding fathers were all religous people. Jefferson was the least religous man of all the founding fathers and he was a very religous man. He was not an athiest like many Americans are taught he was more religous then the majority of Americans are today. The bible was taught in public schools through the 1800's. The Bible was a common source of political ideas. In the 1800's Politicians had to prove that their bills didn't go against God's law. America didn't start out secular we started out as a christain nation. Religous leaders were big supporters of the revolution. Many of the reasons for the revolution were based in religion. American history didn't become secular in tell the 20th century. History was changed to make it secular. America can have Sharia law or any other religous law if that is what the majority of Americans want. America will never have a muslim majority but Europe might.

You don't know what america will have.

You don't know what america will have.

Are immigrants come from Mexico and the rest of North and South America America these people are catholics. Mexicans have lots of children and the white majority stays at replacement level. Muslims are an extremely small minority. America is not on the path of having large numbers of muslims. Without a muslim majority a country can't have Sharia law.

You stupid fuck :)

To compare Judeo Christianity with the brutality of sharia proves THAT you are the idiot!

Mosques in the U.S. are gaining popularity. Of the 1,200 mosques currently operating in the U.S., nearly 80 percent have been built in the past 12 years.

A large majority of mosques in the United States are led by Wahhabi clerics. Wahhabism is an extreme brand of Islam practiced dominantly in Saudi Arabia. According to Muslim estimates, up to 80 percent of mosques in the U.S. are owned, operated and led by Wahhabis.

These radical mosques often promote the installation of Sharia law, an extreme ideology that considers ‘non-believers’ to be infidels. According to Wahhabis, Jihad or support of Jihad is a Muslim duty. They believe that suicide bombers and martyrs are worthy of the highest praise and reward. And radicals are anticipating the day when an Islamic state will one day span the U.S.

This all sourced in a previous post!

You failed to note or comprehend that the Wahhabis consider themselves the only true Islam and that followers of the remaining 16 major Islamic sects are therefore also infidels, which means there is no fucking way a Wahhabi cleric would lower himself to head a Sunni or Shia mosque, nor would either of those major sects allow a Wahhabi wacko to head their mosque, any more that a mainline Episcopalian church would hire Fred Phelps to be its priest. Wahhabism is a tiny, ultra radical subsect, not 80% of American Muslims, who are close to 90% Sunni (virtually all the remaining American Muslims are Shiite). That is the reality, so your sources are therefore bullshit There is no way 80% of American mosques are headed by Wahhabi clerics.

Lose the religious ignorance and bigotry. It's unAmerican,
