Study: 3 in 4 U.S. mosques preach anti-West extremism.

An undercover survey of more than 100 mosques and Islamic schools in America has exposed widespread radicalism, including the alarming finding that 3 in 4 Islamic centers are hotbeds of anti-Western extremism, WND has learned.

The Mapping Sharia in America Project, sponsored by the Washington-based Center for Security Policy, has trained former counterintelligence and counterterrorism agents from the FBI, CIA and U.S. military, who are skilled in Arabic and Urdu, to conduct undercover reconnaissance at some 2,300 mosques and Islamic centers and schools across the country.

"So far of 100 mapped, 75 should be on a watchlist," an official familiar with the project said.

Many of the Islamic centers are operating under the auspices of the Saudi Arabian government and U.S. front groups for the radical Muslim Brotherhood based in Egypt.

Frank Gaffney, a former Pentagon official who runs the Center for Security Policy, says the results of the survey have not yet been published. But he confirmed that "the vast majority" are inciting insurrection and jihad through sermons by Saudi-trained imams and anti-Western literature, videos and textbooks.

A year’s worth of discovery uncovered the following facts in addition to what was known from the public record:


· AIG has five wholly-owned subsidiaries which promote and practice Shariah in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Bahrain, and the U.S.


· These Shariah-compliant companies employ or otherwise retain the services of Shariah authorities to tell them how to conduct their business according to Shariah, including the Shariah-compliant charities to which these AIG subsidiaries must contribute.


· The government places absolutely no controls on how its billions are used by the Shariah-compliant companies or to whom they support with their “zakat” (‘charitable’) dollars. Moreover, these companies all accept Shariah’s mandate to support jihad with zakat insofar as they abide by the authoritative rulings of the world’s leading Shariah authorities.


· Over one billion taxpayer dollars have flowed through AIG’s headquarters into supporting AIG’s Shariah businesses worldwide.


· The government has actively promoted Shariah and Shariah-compliant finance in many ways and venues:


o The Treasury Department has published, edited, and updated articles about Shariah-compliant finance, which essentially promote Islamic law uncritically.


o The Treasury Department has created and staffed a position called the Islamic Finance Scholar-in Residence. No other religious law is so honored.


o Published presentations by senior Treasury Department officials lauding Shariah-compliant finance and stating explicitly that the U.S. government “places significant importance on promoting . . . Islamic finance” and has “recently deepened our engagement in Islamic finance in a number of ways,” including a “call[] for harmonization of Shari’a standards at the national and international levels.”


o After the AIG bailout, the Treasury Department co-sponsored a half-day conference called “Islamic Finance 101” for government policy makers which was in effect a cheerleading program to promote Shariah and Shariah-compliant finance.

He's a paranoid nutter. I actually met the dude at a fundraiser he was hosting about a year or 2 after glasnost & the Berlin Wall came down. He was still pushing a "the Cold War isn't really over" agenda, and I remember the giveaway was a coffee mug with a picture of a bunch of trees, and the trees disappeared once you put hot liquid in it to reveal a tank (message: be afraid...they're still out there!)

Get your facts straight.

1. You have no proof for your accusation that the study is inaccurate.

2. Gaffney sponsored the study he did not conduct it.

3. Once again you fail at discussing the message and resort to the intellectually lazy and dishonest method of "attack the messenger".

No matter what information you bring to the table, they will single out some individual associated with it, make some absurd connection to the war in Iraq or George Bush, and turn THAT into the argument! You may as well be talking to a computer program designed to respond with the same predefined rhetoric, no matter what you enter.

The problem is, this particular issue is very different than Schiavo, and they are cracking themselves in their own head with the hammer, but they don't realize it yet.

Mosques in the U.S. are gaining popularity. Of the 1,200 mosques currently operating in the U.S., nearly 80 percent have been built in the past 12 years.

A large majority of mosques in the United States are led by Wahhabi clerics. Wahhabism is an extreme brand of Islam practiced dominantly in Saudi Arabia. According to Muslim estimates, up to 80 percent of mosques in the U.S. are owned, operated and led by Wahhabis.

These radical mosques often promote the installation of Sharia law, an extreme ideology that considers ‘non-believers’ to be infidels. According to Wahhabis, Jihad or support of Jihad is a Muslim duty. They believe that suicide bombers and martyrs are worthy of the highest praise and reward. And radicals are anticipating the day when an Islamic state will one day span the U.S.

It's a fact that our government monitors radical islam in the US and abroad...because it ACTUALLY exists in the US and abroad!

CAIR was touted as moderate until it was revealed through undercover work by the FBI that tied it to financial support to terror groups and terroists. ISNA has cross members to CAIR. ISNA is another funding machine by Saudi radicals touted in the US as "moderate". The simple connect the dots are so obvious as to be solved by a 5 year old. Oh, and yeah, Rauf has ties to both as well.

Idiot. Any study that assumes the purpose of Islam in the US is to institute Sharia law is suspect at best, fear-mongering bullshit at worst. Sharia law CANNOT be instituted in the US for anybody but Muslims, as that would be a clear violation of the First Amendment's separation of church and state, and any precept of Sharia that violates a US law, state law, or local ordinance is a crime or violation under the applicable law or ordinance regardless of the religion of the victim, just as it is a crime for parents to allow their child to die by refusing to allow the administration of life-saving medical treatment because their wacko right-wing faux-Christian cult bans the use of medicine.
