Moms For Liberty Kirk Cameron event will be held in Madison, library says
The Moms For Liberty event planned, then canceled, at the Madison Public Library is back on.
In a statement released Friday afternoon, the library said that the event will go forward as originally planned Saturday at 10 a.m. Library officials, in discussions with the organization, set the limit of attendees at 225.
Madison police and the fire marshal will be on site “in the interest of public safety,” the library’s statement said.
The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library system announced Thursday morning that the event would not be held because of space concerns. In announcing the cancellation, the library system said an expected crowd of more than 300 people “far exceeds any meeting room capacity within the (library) system.”
The library statement said the organization initially said it expected a gathering of about 20 people.

The release continued, "Initially, the organizers of the event reported 20 attendees to library officials. The release also said, "The Library explored options to make the event logistically possible by consulting the Madison City Police, the Madison City Fire Marshal and City officials."
It went on, "After discussing the logistics of the event with both the Library and the event organizer, the Madison City Police Department and the Madison City Fire Marshal have recommended that the event be held at an alternate location."
In addition, the release noted, "The City of Madison applies permitting regulations for outside events equally to all groups and organizations. While the initially planned event was suited for the Madison Library’s capacity, the scope of attendees quickly grew."
It went on, "The Moms for Liberty group failed to apply for an event permit in advance, and it was determined that City resources cannot support an event of this size on such short notice."
Your analogy is that 300 people politically motivated to attend an event by a Christian author and 30-years-ago-actor that would have occurred live in a single broadcast is like Olive Garden having a wait for a table in a white trash cafeteria with 50 tables that constantly turn over.
