The intelligence of Trump voters

I had a gazillion problems with his speech tonight. But the thing that really stood out was when he said "little Marco" for the ONE THOUSANDTH time. And there was a fairly large group of his supporters who cackled wildly, like it was the funniest thing they had ever heard.

This campaign has been a real eye opener. We have a pretty dumbed-down country. If I sound like some elitist intellectual saying that, I don't really care.

It's not our country that's dumb. Every country is. Look back at the Romans.

In fact this election has a lot in common with the end of Republican Rome. Sanders as Tiberius Gracchus, Trump as Crassus, Clinton as Caesar (the war monger lust for power at any cost).

Pretty sure I've seen it on Fox, but it happens daily on Medved, and on smaller talk shows. Medved specifically had to address it today, and used the comparison of the majority of voters who elected Obama (which I don't buy as a valid comparison, but, whatever...).

Oh, they have ideas alright. Fulfilling them is another matter. That's the whole point behind the anti-establishment movement: politicians promising but not delivering.

Trump is just more of the same, he's just more colorful about it. Though in fairness to him, he hasn't broken any campaign promises yet.

When was the last time a politician kept his promises?

James K. Polk did a pretty good job of getting everything done he campaigned on. Of course, he left office after one term, utterly exhausted, and died not long after. You might say he paid a price for his diligence. :cof1:
 
start being adults who HONOR decent attempts



the only way for this country to get there is to let trump have the racist base of the republican party that he took from you.



the only problem is the rest of your party likes to hate people too even without the out right racists.



you cant with them or without them.



You have to let them go AND grow an acceptance of FACTS which will cause you to form NEW valid ideas based on actual facts.






it will merely weaken until another group takes its place





new fact based ideas or death
 
start being adults who HONOR decent attempts
