The Inflation Reduction Act is a big effing deal

Partition is the only thing that can save us.

Personally, I wouldn't call anything short of that a big fucking deal.
And what's with the bowdlerization?

My kids wouldn't have said "effing" when they were four!
They're from Boston.

Yes, the Inflation Reduction Act Is a Big Effing Deal

While the bill that just survived the Senate is a whittled-down version of the Build Back Better Act, it still puts the Democratic party on a promising new path.

The bill is only a portion of what should have been, true. But here’s the big picture on why even this whittled-down bill is, as Joe Biden once said of another historic but compromised piece of legislation, “a big fuckin’ deal.”

In a nutshell: It begins to turn 40 years of bad economic conventional wisdom on its head by asserting that the government has a role in structuring markets, promoting growth, and guiding industrial policy.

My God are you dumber than fuck.

One thing the Inflation Reduction Act is not expected to do, according to multiple analyses, is reduced inflation. The Congressional Budget Office said the bill will have "a negligible effect" on inflation in 2022, and in 2023 its impact would range between reducing inflation by 0.1% and increasing it by 0.1%.

not sure how anyone can see this as a big F'n deal..........

They renamed it IRA to acquire Manchin's vote.

The main effect of this landmark bill is climate change, prescription drugs, and corporate taxes.

so this bill, titled the Inflation Reduction Act, was nothing more than a marketing ploy to garner support in passing a bill that had no intention of doing what we the people were told it would do. In other words, Democrats lied to the American people.

You must be brand new to politics if you just learned today that political parties package and market their initiatives.

not at all.......I remember political lies like GW Bush's 'healthy trees initiative' and shit............I also remember a bunch of liberals calling the GOP liars about the bill.........

but I also read many posts by liberals here that this would reduce inflation........despite many of us on here saying it would only increase it. So....either you KNEW it wasn't going to reduce inflation, thereby lying to people, or you were too stupid to realize it until others started saying it wouldn't.

anyone actually defending this political bullshit should never be trusted again.

I don't care if they called it the pepperoni pizza act to get Manchin's vote.

Democratic senators and the mainstream media were completely open and transparent about what was in the bill. Nobody who reads the news could have been ignorant about what was in the bill.

Let us know how that works out for ya.

Please do make note of and annotate any way you benefit personally by the passing of that bill.

Seriously, it's a big "Fuck You, Hoi Polloi" bill and your bills are about to go up, Sunshine. You are the Hoi Polloi.

They don't care about you.

I do, but you wanna be stupid. It's not my right to stop you from being stupid.

This is a big step away from lassaize faire capitalism.

Sooo...ever since 2001?

The government and Fed have dumped unprecedented amounts of money into the economy and the markets.
And the national debt and the Fed balance sheet have rocketed upwards.
And what has all that government control brought to Americans?

NOT ONE FY of GDP growth over 3.8% for the ENTIRE 21 years.
And only 2 fiscal years of 3+% growth AT ALL.

Yet, during Bill Clinton's term alone, when free markets still, at least, partially reigned?
The economy grew at over 4% GDP for FIVE FY's.
And NEVER under 2.7%.
With roughly similar growth under Reagan.
And on and on.

There has not been free market economics (lassaize faire capitalism) in America for generations.
And nothing even close to it since 2000.
And the US economy has stagnated ever since.

Anyone who says the problem with the American economy is too much, lassaize faire capitalism?
Hasn't a fucking clue what they are talking about on the subject.

If borrowing causes inflation, then taxing more than you spend would decrease inflation. But you do not want to hear logic.

87k IRS agents and 400 billion for buying solar panels and windmills from China..
Oh and energy taxes on fossil fuels ..pile of garbage
