The Holy Father visits Iraq.

Sistani mostly refused eye contact , and only let the Pope take his hands.. I dont think he was thrilled at the meeting..

Other then that this pope seems determined to mingle X-tianity with some universal "Abraham" type pan-religion.
I would not be thrilled with the Pope's watering down of Christianity

You really think he is looking for that?? He'd need to be pope for a thousand years to pull that off

popes can set tones. the tone of Abraham religion was already enunciated by him in Iraq.
he cant pull it off,but he can water down Xtianity under that guise

Besides the religious aspects the underlying political significance of this meeting of two great faiths is the probability of future mutual support between Muslims and Catholics, Islam and Catholicism. Between them these faiths represent well over three billion people, almost a half of the world's population. Latinos are, traditionally, followers of Roman Catholicism and it won't be very long now before the USA has a Latino majority. Although there is a constitutional separation of church and state that doesn't mean much in terms of people's emotions.
There's a sea-change coming, sisters and brothers- and the slow ones will be those that claim there isn't.
