MUSLIMS Threaten California Church with “Allahu Akbars” During Sunday Mass

So this is what we have to look forward to in Obama’s “new America.”

Father Josiah Trenham described the threats on his Orthodox Church in California.

Muslims screamed “Allahu Akbars” at St. Andrew Orthodox Church during its Sunday service.
They brought their bullhorn so everyone would get the message.
Via FOX News and Jihad Watch:

As Father Josiah Trenham prepared to read the Gospel, several parishioners discreetly scooped up their babies, retreated up the aisles of St. Andrew Orthodox Church and out into the spring air, so as not to allow the crying of little ones to disturb the divine liturgy.

The time-honored tradition was shattered when a car passed by the Riverside, Calif., church, slowing down as the front passenger leaned out of his window and bellowed menacingly through a bullhorn, according to witnesses.

“Allahu Akbar!” the unidentified man repeated several times as the unnerved parents drew their infants close and exchanged worried glances.

Witnesses were able to give Riverside police a description of the green Honda Civic, but not of the three occupants. Some told police they believed one or more of the men may have been taking photographs, according to Officer Ryan Railsback. Although Trenham insisted multiple congregants heard the Arabic phrase, Railsback noted no mention of it was in the police report.

Whatever the case, no law was broken – even if an unmistakable message was sent and received.

“Be calm and to keep a special vigilance over the property and our children while we are at church,” Trenham wrote in an email to parishioners in which he recounted the disturbing event. “Pray that these provocative young men might repent of their intimidation and be saved.”

Trenham told FoxNews.com last week the situation remains “tense and tenuous,” and said the church now has security officers on hand for all regular services.

“It is a deep sorrow to live this way in the ‘new America,’” he said.

If this was Christians at Mosque, Obama and the DOJ would be investigating it as a hate crime.....

Westboro Baptist Church to protest at Orlando shooting victims' funerals

A representative for the fundamentalist Westboro Baptist Church told USA TODAY that its members plan to picket Saturday outside the funeral for two of the victims of last Sunday's shooting massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando.

"It's not about that person, it's about that whole societal phenomenon," Westboro spokesman Steve Drain of Topeka, Kan., said Thursday night in a telephone interview. "It’s never been OK to be gay and it’s never going to be OK to be gay, no matter how much the spirit of the times calls for the popularity of that sin."

The Kansas-based church, through a lawyer, sent a letter to the Orlando Police Department spelling out plans to protest outside the Cathedral Church of St. Luke on Saturday from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Westboro members are known for protesting outside the funerals of gays and lesbians. Members declare that the Bible stipulates that the LGBT lifestyle is a sin.

In the letter dated June 16, lawyer Rebekah Phelps-Davis wrote that Westboro members are "law-abiding and nonviolent" and requested that police "fulfill their duty to take responsible steps to keep the peace." They also requested information on permits that are required.

About six members will take part in Saturday's protest, Drain said.

A representative for the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida told the Orlando Sentinel that Westboro members can expect some pushback.

RELIGION SUCKS.

Car just drives by, a bullhorn used to scare people with the phrase "Allahu ackbar", photos being taken. Why do I feel like it was probably some idiots filming a "prank" for YouTube...

And what "unmistakeable message" was sent

That the vehicle occupants believe God is great?

That fear mongering Faux News is trying to instill irrational fear in their viewers?

Of course the double standard JPP lefties immediately deflect to Christians. I really don't know why lefties always defend Muslims and always bash Christians. Especially since Islam is far, far more conservative than Christianity.

Both religions are a drag. But I tend to "defend" Muslims more because they're far more discriminated against in America.

I understand your point of view, I just disagree with it. It is personal for me, I want to be upfront with my bias, not against Islam, but being on the end of religious "persecution" (being made fun of). Not a big deal and not real persecution, just a personal perspective I have that is likely different than yours.

However, just logically speaking, I wouldn't want to defend someone more just because they are more discriminated against in America. And I'm glad you clarified that, because as you know, Christians are persecuted far worse in the Middle East than Muslims are here in a America.

I really don't like to see any religion made fun of, or singled out. The fact is, the vast majority of adherents to both Christianity & Islam do things what I would call "the right way." They treat their religion as a relatively private matter, and don't try to merge it into the public space. I respect that, and I think - as much as I disagree w/ religion in general - we should all respect everyone's right to worship as they see fit, as long as it does no harm to others.

It's tough being a Muslim in America right now. I wouldn't say the same for Christians, just generally. So, I do speak up more when it comes to Muslims. It's not that I don't care about the rest of the world, but politically, my focus is domestic for the most part.

Never heard Christians say that their religion is better than any other. They simply say that it is the ONLY way into heaven.

Muslims, Jews, and Christians all have the same god. They are all 'children of the book'. The same god that demanded that the Jews wipe out the Levant occupants upon emerging from the exodus. The same god that ordained the Christian crusaders as they committed mass murder of Jews on their way to besieging Jerusalem and the sacking of the Byzantines in Constantinople. Today, some extremely reactionary Muslims are committing mass murder in the name of the same god that the Jews and Christians used to justify their own atrocities. Tell me what religion were the reactionary murderers who used their religion to justify lynching thousands here in the US less than a hundred years ago?

There is neither a great god, nor a greater god. And no religion with blood on their hands can lay claim to the title of having the greatest god.

Allah is not God. Allah does not have a Son.

You don't even know what Muslims believe. Muslims not only believe that Jesus was the Messiah, but they also believe that his birth was directly from god, like Adam's birth.

What Do Muslims Believe about Jesus?

Muslims respect and revere Jesus (peace be upon him). They consider him one of the greatest of God’s messengers to mankind. The Quran confirms his virgin birth, and a chapter of the Quran is entitled ‘Maryam’ (Mary). The Quran describes the birth of Jesus as follows:

(Remember) when the angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous.” She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?” He said, “So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, ‘Be!’ and it is.” (Quran, 3:45-47)

Jesus was born miraculously by the command of God, the same command that had brought Adam into being with neither a father nor a mother. God has said:

The case of Jesus with God is like the case of Adam. He created him from dust, and then He said to him, “Be!” and he came into being. (Quran, 3:59)

During his prophetic mission, Jesus performed many miracles. God tells us that Jesus said:

“I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you the shape of a bird out of clay, I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s permission. I heal the blind from birth and the leper. And I bring the dead to life by God’s permission. And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses....” (Quran, 3:49)

Neither Muhammad nor Jesus came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one God, brought by earlier prophets, but rather to confirm and renew it.

It means "God is greater", not "God is great". They were saying that God was greater than the Christians and their church.

Sorry...

Allahu Akbar
/ˈæləˌhu ˈakˌbaː/
interjection
1.
(Islam) an exclamation used in the call to prayer and also used as a call to the defence of Muslims, an expression of approval, and a funeral litany
Word Origin
from Arabic, literally: God is most great

The big guy is the same in both religions. Gabriel, an angel well known from the Bible is supposedly the same one that told Mohammad he was a prophet.

In practical use, however, the term is used to mean a great many different things. It all depends on context. In point of fact, it is used as a war cry when jihadists are committing atrocities, with the intention to claim that Allah is greater than any infidel's god, and thereby instill fear into their victims. I truly hate to disagree with you, Zap, even on this one relatively minor point. The common meaning for the vast, vast majority of Muslims is exactly as you say, however.

^^^ That's exactly my position, too. And I don't know why people think you can't care about both to different degrees.
