The freedom to disrespect people... How far does that go?

That is not good enough. The government has no place making those decisions.

Now, canceling someone... That's free market stuff. In that this is 100%. If some beer company insults the people who drink the beer and they stop drinking it, that's on them. Or, if such decisions create a "movement" among people who buy the beer... all good. It's when the government tells you what you must say, that you must teach "their" values is where the line should be drawn. Schools are not the place for values instruction, that's for the home.

Also, employment contracts sit outside of normal rights.

A burger king employee has the right to tell customers the food sucks and they should go to In & Out instead - it's even true. But in doing so they violate the terms of their employment and will rightfully be fired. With teachers if their contract stipulates that they must foster and promote delusions among students, then they can be fired for "misgendering." If the contract does not and it's just some administrator foisting his perversions onto children and demanding teachers be accomplices, then they cannot be fired. "Respect" had nothing to do with it in either case - it's a matter of contract law.

Burger King is not the government. Yes.

So, in another thread, what I think of as an interesting conversation started when Walt posted this post. To which I responded with a question.

Where does this right end?
With violence or violating the Constitution of the United States is a good line for me.

Depends on the child and what they are doing. If I call a.boy a boy but he's thinks he's a girl that's not my problem. Lying to a child is far more damaging than calling them names.
Gender dysphoria can be damaging and you wouldn't be helping.

As I said lying to them is far more damaging. You're a boy or you're girl. That not "assigned" at birth it's another fucking lie. If you have some mental disorder that makes you believe you are the other sex gender whatever the fuck the term is these days, then you need help. If doesn't help someone with schizophrenia to go.along with their delusion.

Help them how? Makes as much sense as gay conversion therapy.

So. What if I misgendered a child as a teacher, should I lose my job? What if it was a made up gender like "turtleself"? What if I misgendered a cis gendered child and called them turtleself? Is this a one-way right where someone can use governmental power to fire you for calling someone with a penis "him" when they want to be called "them"?
You are conflating legalities with work policies.

None of your examples is illegal, but you can be fired for it, if it says so in the employee handbook regardless of that.
