The Freedom Caucus exemplifies the problem with conservatism,

I sort alluded to that in another thread.

Getting any sort of consensus on a healthcare bill is going to be difficult because it's like there's two parties in the GOP. Not that democrats would fare any better because they have their own establishment at odds with the Bernie/Warren wing.

It's remarkable the ACA ever got passed to begin with. Then it had to survive SCOTUS and it only did that because of an imaginative ruling by the bench. It was a bad day for the country when it did pass because this wreck is going to ramble down the road before it finally finds a ditch.

In 2009 I was preaching incrementalism: it's less difficult to get people to agree on small changes and it decreases the odds of mucking up the whole system.
well the ACA had popular appeal - who doesn't want universal access? .
Ya.. I recall the Roberts "tax"..who could see that coming?

Not me lol.

The bill was popular---depending who you're talking to. It put an onerous burden on small businesses who were forced under the ACA to either offer health insurance or pay a fine. If you have a pre-existing condition then you'll love it. If you're forced to pay higher premiums in order to pick up the slack, you're not going to like it.

Politically, it was a net loss for the democrats---if the numbers of seats they lost nationally are any indication. And that started with the 2010 shellacking.

Well then you'll never be able to govern affectively other than through coercion, force and violence.

government IS violence. Taxation IS coercion.

All you have to do to "govern" is just say no. Say no over and over again. The takers will die off, and all will be right

Actually, unless you intentionally defraud the federal government or state government, it is not a crime, in that, it is only a civil penalty.

That said, you are free to leave America and not pay taxes. You can renounce your citizenship at any time. No one is "coercing" you to live here and pay taxes so that we can live as a community under a government that we vote for. The government is not perfect, but if you honestly think a government, which is basically a group of people who run a society, is one of violence, leave. Oh wait, how will you leave, on road, paid by taxes?

Taxes, if you will, have always been apart of societies. Even if you have your small far right or far left societies, you can bet your ass that people will pay their toll or taxes, be it in work or money from work.

Find a society that works without taxes, I'll strongly considering joining. Just to prove you wrong.

no one is talking about crimes.

Actually I am not. This is a common myth. The USA is one of the few countries in the world that demand you pay taxes, even if you leave the country and become an expat, even if you renounce your citizenship. The USA OWNS the product of your labor and there isn't SHIT we can do about it.

they are so obstinate they can't compromise, they can't even acknowledge another's position, it is either their way or the highway. Yesterday was the perfect example, and nothing was accomplished on an issue they all agree upon even though they control a dominate majority in the House

A democracy is based upon compromise, the Constitution is made up of compromises, and to assume a dogmatic inflexible postion accomplishes nothing, it is an infantile approach to serious matters.

It is understandable why Boehner quit and Ryan has to be asking himself today why he even bothered

You mean the way the democrat party is compromising on Gorsuch who they unanimously approved years ago but now want to filibuster?

Spare me

Thank God for the Freedom Caucus

Too much "compromise" is how we got 20 trillion in debt

You can kill yourself.

Ah, no, how can the Democrats be faulted with not cooperating when neither the Congress nor the President need the Democrats to get anything accomplished? Besides that, the only legislation the House has initiated of note was their Health Care alternative. And the last thing Democrats are is obstinate, remember, they actually believe Government can aid Americans

lol....Demmycrats aren't obstinate?......they've broken all records in delaying cabinet approvals......obviously they can be faulted.....if for nothing else we can fault them for creating obamacare in the first place......

the ACA cost me tens of thousands of dollars since 2011 in higher premiums and higher deductible........it also cost every person who's insurance was provided by their employer though they may not have seen it directly, and every person who hasn't been able to find a job since it's requirements on employers went into effect.....how popular is that?.....

It still does....80% of America wants it.
Ryan made a brilliant call...save face for the GOP. Ryan also saved Trump from himself.

Now lets remove the lies from your post.
90% of small businesses employ under 20 people. So...no effect.

96% of businesses with over 50 employees already provided health care.

YOU FUCKING IDIOT.
