The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born

Not very christian language and not a very christian attitude on this Sunday. I do not think I have ever cursed you, been belligerent, or spoken to you in anything other than a relatively measured way.

Do you cuss at people and get triggered often on the Lord's day??

I will have to take your word for it that when you said "the commandments" you were not talking about the commandments articulated in the old testament.

The bolded statement is factually wrong and unworthy of response.
I suggest you learn significantly more about the religions, spiritual traditions, and ethical philosophies of the world before you try to write a response.

So you admit that God exist and Sunday is a day of rest. I applaud you for coming to your senses. BTW I don't remember not swearing as being in the bible. Don't us the lords name in vain.

I'm not confusing anything. I am looking at this from a scientific viewpoint. Thus one must ask just where do these rules of morality come from? Morality is a learned trait it is not something one is born with such as the will to survive or procreate. That said then someone somewhere must have come up with those basic rules. Now if that is true then there must have been contact between all the tribes of man because the rules in most societies are the same or very similar. I just can't buy mankind woke up one day having a similar moral code.

We didn't. We arrived at basic rules of decorum that allow us to live in societies not filled with mayhem and murder. In some cases it was claimed that these rules were delivered (usually to a special individual) by a deity. In others, they evolved over time and through trial and error. At any given time in human history, we would have had peaceful communities, and rowdy "lawless" ones. But even in warlike nomadic tribes, for instance, there were still rules of behavior regarding the clan or group. For instance, it might be fine to raid a neighboring settlement and rape and steal the women and kill the males, but that would be forbidden to do within your own group. As parents we are aware of the rules of our own culture, and we instill them in our children from birth. You're right, we're not born ethical creatures. We have to be taught how to get along with others. But there's no magical sky dad or mom needed.

TRANSLATION: You got me I have not rebuttal that wouldn't make me look like a low grade idiot.

I know a lot of liberals in real life, and I literally cannot think of one that "loathes Christianity". A lot of liberals I know are believing and practicing xtians

There may be a handful of real christian haters on obscure message boards, and there are defintely people who object to certain evangelicals discriminating against other faith traditions and trying to establish a theocracy through rightwing jihad.

Good points. Almost all the liberals/lefties I know are Xtian, along with a handful of Jews. In fact I know far more leftie Xtians than I do atheist ones. But this whole "liberals are god-less atheists" is just more of the Reichwing's divisive identity politics. If you can paint other ppl as evil and less than human, then it becomes easier to disagree with them and despise them. Just look at I-witless's latest post for confirmation.

LOL I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

This is America

Not your church idiot

Don't you just luv it when the LEFT attempts to use the BIBLE to project their sins unto Christians...when they are actually ignorant as hell about the actual words found in the SCRIPTURES (the foundation of all Christian faith)...faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God?

When the false premise of this thread is SHOT DOWN by simply presenting the Truth found in scriptures...….THEN they attempt to rebuild that wall of separation....after they just climbed over it and started throwing rocks at CHRISTIANS. LMAO:laugh:

Well, the lesson here is to be a sheep and *personally* clothe the naked etc etc.

Virtually all of Jesus’ moral teachings were personal in nature. There’s no escaping it. In fact, Jesus famously went out of his way to NOT give commandments to governments. And he certainly didn’t command us to commit national suicide by opening our borders.

And if anyone is really concerned for the poor Central Americans that concern shouldn’t begin only AFTER they are apprehended by border security. If Jesus gave sermons to governments he would have ‘some not very nice things’ to say about our immigration policy that entices these people to subject themselves—and their children, to the cartels and coyotes.
He was a refugee, I think you would be mistaken about Jesus.

Jesus's words and beautiful ideas don't need a belief in the same religion he created

Just like I don't have to be the same religion of any great thinker to believe the beautiful ideas they brought to us

Jesus was one of the worlds GREAT minds

do you agree so called Christian?

you seem to think Jesus hated everyone but his small group of original followers

While they mock and denigrate every religion, except their pet religion of "Islam".
No, “we” just correct lies about Islam. I am not a practitioner of any religion. I have met some lovely Muslim people in my life, Baptist, too. They all have one thing in common, being happy. They work, raise their family and just try to exist in peace.

LOL I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

I strongly suspect that humans invented gods not for morality reasons, but for mortality reasons. As far as we know, we are the only species that is aware that we will die one day. If we can believe that some part of our being lives on, our fate is less depressing and frightening. So now we have souls. Why us and not other creatures? Because we're special! We were made special.... by the god(s)!

Actually, it is at times, like hiding Jews, or runaway slaves, not only is it an excuse, but absolutely necessary.
So, Snowflake, you want the Immigration Laws violated. Those laws were passed by people who believe in the rule of law (you don’t) and are not immoral. Remember the word “sovereignty.” How about the Civil Rights Laws, can we violate them.

The remedy for you is to elect people to Congress who believe that the laws that they pass are to be violated.

Lots of luck with that.

How beautifully stated. It's an odd day when the non-Christians are more Christ-like than the self-proclaimed faithful.

I have seen it become more so as I age. 1980 was when things started to change for Christians. It’s been interesting to observe it over the years inside of a religion as a member and now, outside as an observer.

So, Snowflake, you were not an atheist but now you are.

How consistent.
