It has to do with what Eastern Europe went through under the boot of the USSR. It has everything to do with the freedom those people now have. Thanks for this accomplishment goes to many, including the Afghanistan people who demoralized the Soviet forces, the Polish Police/people and the Pope standing up to their Soviet masters. The stand of western Europe and the US against the Soviet empire.

To play this off as a 'neocon' issue is ridiculous. Truman, Kennedy, Johnson and Carter all stood up against the same Soviet empire that Ike, Nixon and Reagan did. The falling of the wall symbolizes the freedom we all hold so dear being passed along to Eastern Europe.

Just admit that you read Lowry's National Review piece on RealClearPolitics this morning and posted this thread about it in response.
