The fall of the wall...

This thread is great. Maybe we should send Dick Cheney like Bush did to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Only this time maybe he'll dress appropriately for the occasion:

I43195-2005Jan27L

It's a coat and hat. Not that big of a deal.

What's pathetic is you bending over backwards so far to critisize Obama you can see what you had for breakfast.
Again, not you specifically but your leadership got on the Obama appology tour last time he went to Europe. I'm pretty sure Rahm is not asking any neocons where Obama ought to go.

Why is it that you feel the need to throw Rush or neocons into this?

It has NOTHING to do with political party. It has to do with what BOTH parties did over 50 years to stand up to the Soviets. It has to do with what Eastern Europe went through under the boot of the USSR. It has everything to do with the freedom those people now have. Thanks for this accomplishment goes to many, including the Afghanistan people who demoralized the Soviet forces, the Polish Police/people and the Pope standing up to their Soviet masters. The stand of western Europe and the US against the Soviet empire.

To play this off as a 'neocon' issue is ridiculous. Truman, Kennedy, Johnson and Carter all stood up against the same Soviet empire that Ike, Nixon and Reagan did. The falling of the wall symbolizes the freedom we all hold so dear being passed along to Eastern Europe.

But I know... this is a partisan issue to hacks like Dung and apparently you as well. No big deal.

why does obama hate freedom? he has to stump for dem candidates, fly to NY for a date with his wife, play trick or treat....

but not honor one of the most important moments in the 20th century?

maybe he wishes communism would have won..

You are such an Obama Apologist.

And you're such a typical Republican douchebag. Who gives a shit? Seriously. Get your head out of Rich Lowry's ass and quit reading senseless drivel from the National Review.

Hillary Clinton will attend the ceremony on behalf of the US while Obama attends the APEC summit. Where's the beef?

Edit: And I note that Angela Merkel will be addressing (has addressed) the United States Congress today and has met with Obama. Again, what's the issue?

the olympics would have brought billions to his home town, the wall trip would have had rush popping a vessel saying he's on an appology tour. Republicans are the worst possible people to fill out Obama's agenda for travel.

you're so right...the olympics are far more important

nice neocon tool burn:good4u:

This makes NO sense at all. The Presidents job is not to pimp for the Olympics. The Presidents job IS to stand with our allies to mark events that are as historical as the wall being torn down. Pretending the moron Rush has anything to do with this is quite simply pathetic.

You know that is EXACTLY what would have happened if President Obama had gone over for the ceremony.

He goes for the ceremony & Righties whine about how he's trying to insert himself into one of Reagan's great moments.

He doesn't go and we already can see how the Rightis going to spin it.

Damned if he does...damned if he doesn't.

The issue is the Right cannot let any chance to ridicule President Obama slip by.

Like I stated, you are an Obama apologist. He was invited by Merkel. The celebration is on November NINTH. The APEC summit isn't until the 12th. So what is your next excuse? Please, keep on apologizing for him. Like toppy, you try to turn this into a partisan issue. Rich Lowry has nothing to do with this. Once again you try to find a messenger to attack rather than address the issue.

as I stated, you fall back on the 'its no big deal'. I hope that is Obama's official response as well. We have to let Eastern Europe know exactly how little he thinks of them.

what a load of crap. So now Obama isn't going because he is afraid of what some nuts on the right might 'say'?

Wow, you idiots will go to any length to defend the One.

NEOCONS are some confused nutsuckers.
There is plenty to gripe at Obama over. this aint it.
How about pissing away billions.
Throwing the anti-war groups under the bus.
Throwing freedom loving progressives under the bus and then backing it up over them again.
Cap and Scheme.
Come on neotools, you gotta bring better whining than that or we will reject you like Shaq daddy swatting down Ross Perot.

Is that what I said? Please stop putting words in my mouth.

I merely pointed out that NO MATTER WHICH CHOICE HE MADE it would have been regarded as the the wrong choice by those that hate the man.

The pretense that you did not intend this to be a partisan issue is laughable. Just admit that you read Lowry's National Review piece on RealClearPolitics this morning and posted this thread about it in response. And if you want to pretend Lowry and the rest of the folks at the NRO aren't neo-con Republican freaks you are free to do so. Just don't ask the rest of us to play along.

I fall back on "it's no big deal" because to any sane, reasonable person (Republicans and neo-cons obviously excluded) it is no big deal.

f

It's the worst recession since the Great Depression, not since Nixon.
That's debatable. You weren't around during that recesion, we were. So far, I'd say the post Nixon recesion was worst. That unemployment was just as bad but the real killer was the runaway inflation, which we have not seen this time around so yea, Toppers right.
