The fall of America

Again, do you feel proud about the number of white children who are without fathers? There is an increasing number due to the high rate of divorce that is happening in the white population.

I wouldn't brag about any number until it is zero.

I'm not divorced Rana. I take care of my kids. 56% of black kids don't have fathers while 22% of white kids: 2.5 times worse. What's the cause of the disparity?

The main thing is, back in the 60s, the white illegitimacy rate was around 2% and the black rate was around 30%. Whites have skyrocked up to where blacks were 50 years ago, and blacks have seen their situation skyrocket to even worse numbers than before.

"The Trustees of the nation's Medicare trust funds have just released their 2007 annual report, and once again the news is grave. As the result of health care costs increasing at a much greater rate than wages, the hospital insurance trust fund is projected to be exhausted by 2019..."

..."In a news release announcing efforts to reduce costs in the Medicare Fee-For-Service Program, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services says the current economic crisis could cause the primary trust that funds Medicare to go broke in just seven years, according to Medicare’s chief actuary.

Last spring, the Medicare Part A Hospital Insurance Trust Fund had been projected to go bankrupt in 2019, 11 years from now. The Medicare chief actuary recently observed that because of the current economic crisis, this date could be moved three years earlier to 2016..."

..."the annual report of the Medicare Trustees that says Medicare’s Hospital Insurance (HI) Trust Fund will become insolvent slightly earlier in 2019 than reported last year.

Both the HI Trust Fund and the Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Fund expenditures are growing faster than the rest of the economy. The Trustees report expenditures were $432 billion in 2007, or 3.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), and are projected to increase to nearly 11 percent of GDP in 75 years, according to a report from Health and Human Services..."

So debate this subject, Libby. Why do so many black kids grow up without fathers? :)

As I said folks, this little pointy hood wear cretin by the name of Damn Yankee doesn't dare debate the subject of this thread (as posted by Mojo on Post #1) because he's just not that intelligent. Instead, Damn Yankee just grinds his little racist axe...it's all he has...so much more to pity him. :palm:

There is not much to debate surely. The country is not as rich as it was, it is not as successful as it was, it is not as well respected as it was. To me that sounds like a fall. End of.

A better debate might be what, if anything, can be done to make the landing a little softer. Like the man passing the 20th floor on the way down from launching himself from the top of the Empire State building, 'Everything's fine at the moment.'

Three things that are responsible for the failure of modern America:
Mindset, mindset, mindset.

Mindset, mindset, mindset.

When was the US respected?

I think we had respect as an upstart nation. lol

The world is changing faster and faster. The old ways don't work or cause more problems than they are worth. There must be some substantial changes in the way we work or we will fail miserably.

Yes, we need to reject the globalization stupidity of the last 50 years. It's led to world wide global collapse.

Yeah, ok, but why do so many black kids grow up without fathers?

You had respect until RayGun started being tossed off by Thatcher. It was then that we realised that only a nation of fools would elect a fool to lead them.
I know you might think your downfall was Nixon, but the high esteem in which you were held overcame what was seen as very much a 'local' problem.
I think we find it easier to tolerate a crook than an idiot. At least Nixon knew what he was doing. RayGun didn't know what country he was in - hell, he didnt know his own name half the time!

True, we are following in steps of our European cousins on some level....it won't be "the end", but it won't be as it was.

Agreed!

For once you and I are in complete agreement, Low. But you have a group who are literally diehards....and they have friends in Europe, Asia and Africa who want to maintain the status quo despite the doomsday handwriting on the wall. I can only hope that a correction by a wised-up majority will marginalize these folks.
