preserving food production capacity in a trade war is very wise. A different policy is stupid.
Trump's tariffs were slammed by almost every economist. All he did was put another tax on American consumers. He was not capable of understanding the ramifications of what he was doing. He could sell the image to his followers as being a tough guy. But it was just stupid.
