Hillary Urges Major Donors To Throw Weight Behind Obama...Scheduled to Hold Joint Campaign Event With Obama

On a private conference call moments ago, Hillary urged her top fundraisers in no uncertain terms to throw their weight behind Barack Obama, and directly asked them in surprisingly candid terms to give or raise money to help her pay off her campaign's debt.

At the same time, in a move that took some participants on the call by surprise, she also clarified that she was not asking their help in paying off her personal loans to the campaign.

The call, which I was able to listen to in its entirety, left little doubt that Hillary was unequivocally signaling to her top financial supporters -- who are being actively courted by Obama -- that the time had come for them to do their part in getting him elected President.

Hillary added that "the stakes are too high" to do anything but "do all we can to elect Barack Obama President," in order to "turn the economy around" and "protect a woman's right too choose.

And next week, Clinton and Obama will hold a joint campaign event together.

DQ we always have the cult types, they just have to decide who to worship this time around.

the amazing thing is that the cult of Bush is still alive.

Me , I worship no one or nothing. None are worthy of my worship :D

the sycophants can grovel and worship at my feet if they want to though ;)
 
Irrespective of anyone's perception/guess at her motivations behind this, Hillary is doing what she has to do. This is politics American style.

She has a huge debt to pay off .. and Obama's big fundraisers are on the phones getting money to pay that debt off.

She doesn't want to go back to the Senate as just the junior Senator from New York with no leadership positions. That's being worked out as well.

Politics American style.

"Cult" is a seriously flawed use of scary words to define Obama supporters.

Please define how "cult" came to mind and by what characteristics of cultism do you attest to Obama supporters? .. And define how you came to "on their knees."

... and you said it with such passion .. in big bold incorrectly capitalized words.

A far better definition for Obama supporters would be "movement" .. but that would only be if one were looking for a more accurate definiton as opposed to reaching for a scary one.
