The election is already over....

Stop the Corporate Socialism for the 1%, stop all of the wars and occupations, stop funding Israel, and we'll have more than enough to cover healthcare and college.
As for saving the planet, that will cost billionaires some money because they won't be allowed to pollute all that much, but I think they'll be ok.

Most of that "corporate socialism" goes to social programs like food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid, housing...........

By "Corporate Socialism," I mean all of the things the government gives to the 1%.

The Government cannot give anything to anyone before it forcefully extracts it from others. The 1% pay the lions share of taxes in this country. Provide an example of how the Government could "give" them anything.

It gives it to the 1% by paying corporate farmers, food processors and distributors, truckers, and grocery stores through the food stamp program, to doctors and other medical professionals, hospitals, medical suppliers, and drug companies through Medicare and Medicaid, to construction companies, real estate firms, and corporate owned apartment complexes though housing programs, plus materials for roads and bridges, rent for government offices, etc.

They don't just give the 1% money, they pay them through contracting for goods and services. What did you mean by "all the things government gives them?"

The government also gives them subsidies and bailouts.

"Johnston cited several examples of corporate socialism. In Lockport, N.Y., Yahoo is receiving $2 million for every job it creates in the area, which pay on average $45,000 annually. Alcoa is currently receiving $5.6 billion in electricity discounts from New York state, which would be better spent decreasing utility rates for residents across the state. Boeing has received billions in subsidies to build a plant in South Carolina, while transparency remains elusive regarding the exact worth of the subsidies and incentives the company received. In his 2007 book "Free Lunch," Johnston discusses how a corporation like Cabela's received $32 million in government subsidies to build, at the time, the largest outdoor recreational gear store in the country in Hamburg, Pa., while a local competitor who sold the same products at lower prices went out of business because of the deal."

They aren't being "given" anything. The statement that they are "given" money is moronic. They can receive tax abatement's. That isn't "giving" them anything unless you first believe that what we earn is the Governments and that anything they allow us to keep is giving it to us.

The HILL is a poor source for honest information. It is a leftist dogma organization devoted to making slaves of everyone in the country. Your first hint would be the headline of this article: A democracy lost to corporate socialism.

Sure, most communities want to attract business and growth and are willing to give tax breaks or other incentives to bring jobs and taxes to their area. There are a lot of plants in my area that got incentives to locate here many years ago and today they pay most of the school and city property taxes and provide most of the jobs.

They are given billions in subsidies. So yes, they're given money. Sure, they can't do whatever they want with the money, it has to be used on specific things, but it's still help from the government. How is that ok, but helping the working-class is Marxism?
And has it really been so long since Wall Street was bailed out that we all forgot already? Why was that "Socialism" alright, but erasing college debt is the "Socialism" we should all fear?
One of the reasons I respect Ron Paul is because he's one of the few Republicans to acknowledge this hypocrisy.

So is that Socialism too? And does anyone ever ask how are we going to pay for this?
Anyway, the point is that we can redirect this money into Bernie's healthcare policy. The money is there, it's just a question of whether or not we think everyone is entitled to healthcare.

Companies never provide the jobs they promise and the support they require is a losing proposition. A big compant=y needs wider better roads, traffic lights, police protection and off-ramps on highways among other considerations. Tax abatements are not that good an idea but it looks good for a politician to have companies come.

No, those businesses are privately owned. That is capitalism. There would be no money to redirect to Bernie's health care policy. If those new businesses did not locate to the community offering them incentives they would not be paying any taxes to that community and it would have hundred or thousands fewer jobs who are also paying taxes. In most cases those businesses are given reduced or no taxes for a certain number of years before full taxation kicks in.

I'm not a big fan of these arrangements, but a community with a large employer with a lot of workers paying county, city and school taxes might be more beneficial than not having that employer. If the employer provides health insurance to its workers they don't need Bernie's health plan.

What does that mean? Bernie seeks a fairer and more equitable sharing of the wealth American workers have created. Out of the top 29 industrial nations, only one does not t supply universal healthcare. It is the richest one. That money exists in the system. We ship it to the top 1 percent. That can be corrected.
Rightys love a plutocracy. They apparently want to be told what to do by the wealthy. Perhaps they subscribe to the idea that the rich have, that God chose them to have all that money and power. But the left does not understand why rightys vote against their own security and interests so often.
It is way past time to stand up to the plutocrats who are remaking the country for their benefit. It is not for you. They do not care a whit about the masses. And the rightys cannot figure that out.

if an America Made Greater is only for the rich, then apparently I've made it.........because its been good for me.........thank you Trump for making me one of the plutocrats instead of one of those "masses" like you who haven't benefited......

The wealth that America created belongs to those who created it.

Income redistribution is evil.

Earn your own wealth.
