it happens to some people. they just give up. i've seen it happen. hell, i'm already looking for work in fields that I haven't been in since the early 90s, just to try and find something. You also have to consider, those that have given up are how old? age discrimination exists and it's larger than most people realize.

If I could, I'd start an IT consulting business to handle very specific network tasks for multiple companies. The bonding insurance fees are quite exorbitant though, so it's not possible at this point.

no, i'm not. I am blaming liberals and government for some of the most ridiculous crap that they now require licenses for. for example, to even work in a fast food joint here in TX now, one must pay for a training class and then receive a 'food handlers' card. I haven't looked in to the cost of that, but it's absolutely ludicrous to require a license to work at long john silvers
