But I think even Sarah Palin can give her reasons for being pro-life as opposed to pro-choice... this is not just because I am able to articulate over time, it is because people who hold principled convictions, have no problem articulating them, even in a 5-second sound bite. You said yourself, "he answered the question like an average guy might" and that is what I am seeing as well... all of his rhetoric is tailor made for the "average guy" out there, who is a member of the TEA Party movement. It's too early to really speculate on the scenarios, because no one has even announced their candidacy yet, so we just don't know who will be in contention at this point, for the GOP nomination. But you have to figure, there will likely be several TEA Party types, vying for the Evangelical vote, and the "average joe" and there will be Mitt Romney, the darling of the Republican elite, the libertarian-moderate wing of the party.... sitting there, unscathed, unchallenged... while the TP Candidates hold a WWE grudge match with The Donald. If Trump didn't have a long history of political viewpoints very closely aligned with Mitt Romney's, I might buy this as legitimate. The truth is, Trump is a New Yorker, and his political leanings are more in line with Romney than anyone else on the right. Yet, he is out there trying to sound very "TEA PArty-ish" in his interviews... appealing to the kind of voter the Romney camp thinks might vote for a Palin or Huckabee. Time will tell, but I really do think this is what is happening, I am more convinced of it as time goes by, and I really do hope I am wrong about it.
