Ah yes, the typical bullshit from the left 'do what we say, not what we do'.

So what you really mean is that Obama refuses to lead on any issue that might actually affect him. If it affects other people, then it is quite ok for him to dictate without actually bothering to truly lead (you know, by getting Congress to support his ideas). But if it involves his money, well, he and other rich liberals can spend it far better than the government can.

Desperate, how do you figure? Most of my Latino friends don't support illegal immigrants, most believe that they should be deported and enter the country legally. So how do you figure this will help with the Latino vote? Most of my Latino friends are conservative, well, the guys, anyway. The women tend to be more liberal.

This is the way most of my friends from south of the border are as well. I have a friend who is part owner of a Mexican Restaurant. He makes as sure as he can that the staff he hires (mostly Mexican) are here legally. It is a big sticking point with him. I also understand from talking to him about the issue that a lot of the businessmen like him think pretty much the same.

In my experience this is the same. I think in large part those that have come here legally and went through the nightmarish legalization process are very protective (not to mention proud) of their accomplishment. That said, I think we need to revisit our immigration system. It is far too much bureaucracy and far too expensive. The vast majority that I have encountered that are here illegally are willing to work hard, pay taxes and essentially chase the American dream of better their lives and the lives of their families. But many cannot afford the time and money it takes to do so.
