In 2008, speaking to students at a Catholic school, Ave Maria University in Naples, Fla., Santorum spoke of a satanic assault on the United States.

“The Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country -- the United States of America,” he said, according to a tape of the remarks on the university website. “If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age? There is no one else to go after other than the United States.”

it never ceases to amaze me how many on the left hate religion.

who cares what he said here.

it is not that i hate religion, as i fear its fanatics

just check history for examples of things done in the name of god

then you're not on of the many. i too am concerned about religious fanatics. that is one of the reasons i support our current form of government. however, santorum's comments are not fanatical.

i disagree with you on this one

when people start talking about god and the devil working to seek their ends, i think that it is mostly humans that are behind such thoughts and speak regarding their own ends

after all, are not unbelievers doing the work of the devil?

and as an unbeliever of santorum's god that makes me a tool of the devil and a target for followers of santorum's beliefs

So, in the words of John Stewart, none of the bad things happening in any other countries are the devil, the devil isn't behind the gneocide, stavation, disease, murder and terror that plague the rest of the world, no it's here, its forcing the catholic church to pay for contraception, THATS the devil.

Sure.

yeah...thats right onceler.....

i always defend republicans. always.

good for you...you must be so proud of your lies.

What's funny is that this thread is about an actual Repub - a politician and candidate. Webbway's trash about Sheehan is just that.

But really - the salient point here is that you are such a loser. Lol...

I agree. santorum's perfectly entitled to think whatever he wants about satanic influence, as long as he's not linking it to the secular business of this country.
