The debate has now moved to the demonization of Putin. Americans must not allow this to look like Putin is the good guy who saved Syria from war.

And so all kinds of cheap shots are being taken at him. He was the weapons supplier for the Assad regime. He knows that Assad used chem weapons. He won't follow through and is playing a stalling game.

And on and on. And so the question arises, after the demonization doesn't work in the international community, what will the US do next to save face?

Of course Putin supported Assad. In exactly the same way and for the same reasons the US supported their evil dictatorships in the ME.

Alas, with most Americans being nothing more than propagandized lemmings, they swallow the hate rhetoric against Putin.

But the rest of the world isn't buying and the rest of the world sees it a different way.

Demonize Putin all you bastards like but rest assured that the only way to discredit him now is to destroy the peace plans and go to war anyway even after all the effort to stop it.

In the final analysis, war is worth it if it successfully demonizes Putin and takes away any credit for peace he is going to claim.

I never thought I'd see the day when a Russian president is lauded as a hero, the Chinese government viewed as a beacon of capitalism(suicide nets and all) and our very own beloved country(according to the right) on the wrong end of so many things.

Those other two countries that I mentioned? They are totalitarian regimes. Our country at least allows you to make the ridiculous claims that you do. You'd be shot for saying the tripe that gets laid down on a daily basis on this very board.

It is amusing watching gullible leftist sheeple wet their pants over Putin as he pretends to throw this inept administration a life preserver over their inept ME policy built on verbal gaffs.

But what is more amusing is watching these same gullible sheeple praise Putins newly found humanitarianism is this naive notion that Putin somehow suddenly cares about Syria's WMDs and did not block UN action on them.

I don't think he's some savior of the world. Make no mistake, he's riding his advantage. I think he's a decent leader and is doing pretty damn good for his country.

Nobody should mistake the fact that Putin's main objective is holding onto the Russian sphere of influence it has in the ME. But also, nobody should try to place his initiative in a negative light because of that. It is what it is and it 'is' a hopeful solution to the problem which could prevent war.

And that's why it's so disgusting to listen to MSNBC news and hear them all working to demonize Putin. It's just not credible and it will only be accepted by hardline Obama supporters who think it's necessary to protect Obama.

The trouble is, that could represent enough of the American people to get this war effort back on track. We can only hope that enough people understand what's truly going on.

Well, there was all of that pro-Soviet rhetoric during the Cold War...

No one (that I know) is demonizing Putin because of his motion to ask Syria to hand over it's WMD's to the International Community. The attack is more about the post he put in the New York Times (I believe that is the correct paper) where he stated, "I don't like that Obama stated they are an exceptional nation. Everyone is equal and shouldn't be looked down on" I think people are mad because we are an exceptional nation and shouldn't be criticized for being so. Putin is still attacking gay rallies on the street, I guess equality to Putin still doesn't involve that. Evolution baby. Gays are weird, but I won't use law against them for being gay.

The one thing that is glaring in this administration is how quickly the USA has sunk. Putin is there for the last nudge over the cliff.

"this administration" is pretty uninformed. USA was #1 in the world before Bush. Everyone hated America post Bush.

Bush and Obama both talked a good Foreign peace policy before the Defense Contractors purchased them.

Then you haven't been keeping up.

It is the US, not Russia, not China, which is murdering innocent people all over the planet in a state of perpetual war against ghosts.

We destroy small sovereign nations that pose no threat whatsoever to the American people .. just as we did in Iraq, just as we did in Libya, and just as we plan for Syria.

I have no idea why you're surprised.

Ask Isreal.

Then remember how the right used to tell us we could IGNORE the world?
