That is frequently happening.

Doesn't make it right. And who is doing that labeling? The worst of the left? Certainly not the best. If we allow each side to be defined by the worst of each side then the country is hopeless. And yet we have survived this far somehow, so there must be hope.

Plenty of Trump supporters are good peaceful people. Most of them. It is sad that they have fallen for his schtick, but Trump is the world's greatest conman, so it is an understandable mistake.

I stand ready to forgive any previous Trump supporter who decides it was a mistake to support him. I respect those who still support him as long as that respect is mutual. I still disagree with supporting him but I have no problem talking about it. I'd like to understand why good people can support him, and how they justify that. I know a lot of Trump supporters, and I know they are good people. They each seem to have different reasons for supporting him and they all simply overlook his serious faults.

we need more of this in the world.

True forgiveness is done from the heart, and expects nothing in return. And the thing about that is the one being forgiven does not even need to be told about it. Forgiveness can be a bit selfish in that way. The one who benefits is the one doing the forgiving. It is the simple act of releasing any anger at the individual being forgiven. Just tell yourself they messed up and it doesn't have to change your life unless you let it. You are free to choose whether or not to have anything more to do with the person.

It is the opposite of holding a grudge or vowing revenge.

In that case, the person who perceives they have been wronged and is unable to get over it enters into an endless bout of self-torture, wallowing in the grudge, becoming fixated on it, allowing it to rule their life, preventing any true happiness or meaningful relationships. Very sad. Lives can be ruined over failure to forgive. (but it makes a good make-believe movie plot)

I decided long ago that it was pointless to hold grudges. One of the best decisions in my life. Oh, I have been wronged, ripped off, had my trust betrayed, things stolen, been cheated, money stolen, etc. Yes, it hurts. But because of my own conviction and determination not to let such things determine my ability to enjoy life, I have a happy life despite being wronged. And I have also been able to think clearly about how I allowed those things to happen to me, and how I might have conducted my life differently to avoid that. I can happily report that has been working out pretty good!

I have selected individuals I admired to use as role models, and never told them. I take their traits I have been impressed by and made them my own. I like to surround my self with happy functional people. Makes a great life!

I submit that morons who routinely use “Democrat Party” are illiterate lemmings who don’t know the difference. I’ve had numerous “conversations” with those idiots.

Definitely possible one can mean no disrespect or ill will and are just using the term incorrectly. I'll only speak for myself here and say when I've seen it used it's with the intent to be disrespectful and/or draw a response (such as one from the OP).
