The Daily Shill

Yeah...heres the analogy...

The Dims play with matches in every room of a house over a long period of time while Repubs warn them about the fire hazard they are creating....as expected, the house ignites.... and as the house begins to burn and fall, one of the Dims decides to piss in a window to fight the fire and is hailed as a hero....

HR 1427 .....2007 ? A little late to START regulation and oversite.....
The first warnings came from Bush in 2001

Hero? No one is claiming Barney Frank is a hero. I was simply rebutting the whole "Democrats did nothing" meme by pointing out that (1) a Democrat sponsored the first legislation; (2) the Democrats in the House voted overwhelmingly in favor of the bill; and, (3) that Frank introduced a passed a
similar bill when the Democrats gained control of the House in 2007.

There's plenty of blame to spread around and plenty of Republicans that share in that blame.

It is so very obvious to any person with a brain that trying to blame the dems who were out of power for a decade for the lack of oversight that caused this mess is partisan hackery.

Just when do you hold the R party responsible, when all the democrats are dead?

HR 1427 passed the House 313 to 104....

May 24, 2007: Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
Dodd was the chairman and Dims were in the majority

Whats your point ???:readit:

The legislation sucked anyway....

Maybe you missed this post earlier:

I guess we can blame the Democrats for not doing anything with that bill in 2007 and on, just like we can blame the Republicans for sitting on their hands from 2003-2006.

You'd have a point if it were not for the fact that Republicans COULD NOT PASS legislation without the co-operation and votes of Democrats.....

Bush's warnings were ignored from the get go....no debate, no co-operation, ... only denials from Democrats that there was any kind of problem in the first place.....you saw the videos....Frank and others saying Freddie and Fannie were in wonderful shape while they collected campaign contributions from both.....

Why keep lying to yourself for the sake of your party..?
