Gunfire at an apartment complex left a 37-year-old officer and two other men dead, including the son of the police chief of Dallas.

Lancaster Police Chief Keith Humphrey on Monday identified the slain lawman as Officer Craig Shaw.

Humphrey says Shaw was among several officers who responded Sunday night to confront a gunman, who died in the exchange of gunfire.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office identified the two men who died as 23-year-old Jeremy McMillan and 27-year-old David Brown Jr.

His father is Dallas Police Chief David Brown.
