The Daily injustice report vol. 4

* The Detroit Michigan police were accused of lying about how a police officer fatally shot a 7-year-old girl during a raid on a duplex by the lawyer for the girl’s family. He claims to have seen a video taken from outside the duplex where a gunshot was supposedly heard immdiately after a flash bang grenade that was thrown into a front window exploded. This would mean the shot was fired from outside the building instead of inside where the officer claims his weapon discharged after he made some sort of contact with the girl’s grandmother.
I'm still iffy about this one being here. I'm really hoping no facts or evidence are whitewashed or classified.

* An Anaheim California police officer has plead guilty to sexual assault and harassment charges in incidents involving three different women that occurred while he was on duty.
The article states he's eligible for up to 4 years in prison. 4 years for multiple rapes?

* A Tarentum Pennsylvania police officer has been accused of opening a car door and choking a teenager in the back seat because the officer thought the teen had yelled something at him. The teen’s mother and another man in the front attempted to stop them but he allegedly threatened them with arrest while putting his hand on his firearm. The department refuses to say whether they are investigating the allegations or not.
something about civil service is making me gag right now.

* The New Orleans Louisiana police department is now the subject of a US Deartment of Justice patterns and practices investigation after the mayor requested help with reforming that troubled department, which is currently the subject of 8 other specific federal investigations.
it's about time.

* A St Paul Minnesota police officer has plead guilty to harassment and unauthorized computer access charges for sending harassing emails and text messages to a woman she believed was dating her ex-boyfriend, who is also a police officer.
a civilian would have been afforded the same courtesy to keep their job, right?

* A Los Angeles County California deputy has been accused of unnecessarily shooting a loose pitt bull by an unrelated witness who claims the dog didn’t lunge at or threaten the deputy before he shot the pet dog.
the article doesn't state the complainants name because she fears retaliation. cops wouldn't retaliate, would they?

* A Dallas Texas police officer who was fired on allegations of excessive force during a traffic stop and for for excessive force and for writing false citations is ordered to be rehired by judge in appeal.
judges, lawyers, and cops, oh my.

* A Lee County Florida sheriff’s sergeant was demoted after ignored an officer who tried to stop him for speeding in a boat in a manatee zone. Once stopped the sergeant, who used to patrol the same waterway, flashed his badge to try and get out of a ticket and berated the officer. While the officer let him go, he did report the sergeant’s behavior.well, demoted is a step i guess.

* A Chesapeake Virginia police officer was arrested on “use of communication system to facilitate offenses involving children” charge. Officials are refusing to specify what that involves.
refusing to specify what that involves? only one status?

* A Perry Township Ohio police officer was ordered to pay $340 to reimburse the department after he plead no contest to unauthorized use of a taser he didn’t return when he was fired after he was arrested for DUI. He apparently used the taser about 100 times including showing it off at parties and tasing at least 2 people.
now that this is public, i wonder what other 'uses' will come up.

* A Washoe County Nevada deputy was arrested on 2 charges for allegedly walking into a high school classroom and threatening a student in front of teachers and other students.
Article says he was off duty, but I can't help but believe he was armed. so shouldn't that be serious felony charges? only one status again?

* The Huntington Beach California police department is being sued by a woman who claims that the police attempted to cover up allegations of rape and forced sodomy made against one of their officers. That officer is now facing 20 charges on those allegations.
this is the first time i've heard a major story about huntington beach PD, so it will be interesting to see where it goes.

* A Spokane Washington police officer was notified that he will face charges over his role in the 2006 death of a mentally challenged janitor who was beaten with a baton and hog tied for allegedly refusing to drop a plastic soda bottle at a convenience store. He is the second officer so far to face charges over the incident.2006? the wheels of justice rapidly run over civilians, but why so damned slow for agents of the state?

* A Little Rock Arkansas police officer is under investigation after a YouTube video was released that allegedly shows him flash his badge and use racial slurs while he was drunk and off-duty.
expecting retaliation against the videographer in 3....2....

* A Des Moines Iowa police officer has plead guilty in a deal that dropped a felony charge for sexually abusing a woman in his squad car.
The former officer was fired and thus will never be a cop again, but I can't help notice that they dropped all felony charges against said former officer........so he can still carry a gun. nice.

* A New Martinsville West Virginia police officer has been charged with stalking and harassment after he allegedly violated a protection order against him.
usually, those under orders of protection have to turn over all firearms due to federal law.....wonder why this gentleman didn't?

* A Sleepy Hollow New York police officer has admitted to filing a false report to cover for a police officer who beat and kicked a handcuffed detainee. The confession occured while the officer was giving testimony about his role in recording the officer for the FBI who investigated the incident. It’s not clear if he’ll face charges for his self-incrimination since he has been cooperating with the FBI during that investigation.
probably not, professional courtesy and all.

* Finally, a Gowanda New York police officer has plead guilty to official misconduct charges for accepting pizzas as bribes in exchange for making traffic tickets go away… that’s a bargain basement deal there.
from the article, it states that two years ago the officer in question was shot at and hit in the vest. I can't help but wonder if that incident will be used as a defense in this misconduct case.

There was a camera crew with the Detroit police. It sounds like they have attempted several stories none of which jibe with the footage.

That's what made me say what I did. After three stories we still don't have them telling the truth. It's like they don't realize that there was film.
