The consequences of electing someone like Bush

You can't possibly be serious.

Yes, Freak - there is a significant difference between starting wars like Iraq & Afghanistan, and doing something like a temporary ramp-up to bring about an end game in Afghanistan.

Do you have any sense of scale whatsoever? Do you know the difference between unilateral & multilateral? Do you understand what it means to do something pre-emptively, vs. cleaning up someone else's mess?

Get a grip. You really aren't thinking straight if you think there is any comparison at all.

The point was that he ramped up war spending while cutting taxes... the very thing Jarod said was different. I did not state they were EXACTLY the same in terms of pre-emptive etc...

The point was that Obama went ahead with TAX CUTS at a time where war spending was ramping up. So if you are done with your straw man creations, perhaps you can address what I actually stated.

Get a grip yourself and quit tossing little tantrums. We have enough liberals on the board doing that of late. We don't need another.

Are you seriously pretending that as a worshiper of Bush you are an opponent of these things? You need to differentiate between Bush and Obama and we know what the important difference to you is.

Thing the Pinhead says these things are inconsequential to her world view...

It has nothing to do with my being an opponent or proponent of them....

They are hardly inconsequential

You are quite the fool if that is what you believe. your ignorance of my positions doesn't mean you get to make up what you want to believe they are.

So basically you are just here to stomp your feet and you have nothing of value to add?

which is pure nonsense. Thanks for again proving which of us lacks integrity.

You argued we should not consider the concerns of a sovereign Libya. Of course, if Obama had done what you argued I am sure you would have complained about it.

Again, it comes down to a matter of scale. And I was pretty calm when I wrote my previous post. Your interpretation of tantrum seems to match how you view scale.

But they don't stop you from arguing that Bush was great President. I don't believe they are of any consequence to you.

Believe what you want....I couldn't care less.....
Thing, your fellow pinhead, was the one that things these things are inconsequential....not me...

History will grade Bush, not assholes like todays Democrats.

Can you name one policy that wasn't continued under Obama that you hated under Bush? This nation has enthusiastically supported those policies now for four Presidential terms.

Iraq war: Obama followed the negotiated exit strategy left behind by Bush.
Afghanistan: Obama doubled down sending in more troops than Bush.
Bombing by remote control: Pentupled (yes five times the number of "collateral damage" to be proud of).
GITMO: Still there.
Overspending like a drunken democrat: Check
Pill Bill: Trumped
Warrantless Wiretapping: Exponentially greater, now to include 30,000 Drones flying over taking pictures of you...
"Questioning" by the CIA in other nations: Check (In fact, General Patraeus' girlfriend even let it out that it was happening in the compound that was attacked on 9/11 killing our Ambassador).
TSA Patdowns: Yup.
Terrorist lists that can ensure you can't travel: Still there, more names now.
Drug War: More people in prison now than ever before for drugs.
Claiming the capacity to declare US citizens as terrorists and therefore put them in prison without any knowledge of anybody anywhere let alone an ability to get legal council: Check

Rendition?

"Enhanced interrogation"?

I have to say, it bugs me a little that people who voted enthusiastically for Bush for TWO terms no longer want to talk about this disaster. They ridicule sentiments that rightly call out his admin for their mistakes with cries of "Boooooooosh," and "That's the past - it's time to move on. How's that hopey changey thing going?"

Elections DO have consequences, and electing a flunky like Bush unfortunately had severe consequences for the U.S. I was mystified when we elected him for a 1st term, much less a 2nd term. Iraq will take 6 months? Deficit spending doesn't matter? Osama Bin Laden is irrelevant?

We haven't had a more irresponsible, incompetent admin in the modern era. You have to go back to Harding & Coolidge for adequate comparisons.

I remember Damo speaking out against it

were you speaking out against the war in January 2003?

You know we can't search back that far, right?

I was speaking out against it every day from the fall of 2002 on. I was called a traitor & terrorist sympathizer. I was 100% against the Iraq War.

I don't want you to believe me. I don't want there to be one element of you that is grounded in truth or reality. I want you to continue to believe that I'm a Bush voter who loved the war.

which means you have no proof of your claim

I caught you lying

why should any one believe what you claim

Isn’t that what we’re after? I remember a bad TV movie called the “Lathe of Heaven,” where the main character could dream basically any scenario, and it would come true. They asked him to rid the world of prejudice, and he dreamed a world where we were all part black, part white, part middle-eastern, part oriental, etc.

How do WE get there? Do we get there with Obama saying he could have been Trayvon? Do we get there with BAC and Desh calling anything that moves a racist, and focusing on what divides us instead of what we have in common? Or with those who agree with them telling us that we can't disagree, because we're not black? Do we get there by making the GZ trial ALL about race…instead of what it is, which is one crazy idiot doing something stupid, it getting out of hand, and there not being enough evidence or any law to put him in jail?

People need to step off of their self-righteous mountain & take a good, long, hard look at what their goal is – what they want for society, and the best way to achieve that. To me, you don’t achieve that by drawing lines, and creating sides. Everyone can change; everyone has changed.

I love that thread, and 100% stand by it.

We'll never stop being divided if your way of thinking prevails.
