ALL rifles are high powered. Most higher caliber rifles, which don't seem to concern dipshits in the Democratic Party of the Jackass, can cause far more damage than a .22 bullet. Which is why they don't allow you to hunt with them.

If you take a 9mm hollow point in the chest, it can, in fact, do massive damage to the lungs... especially if it's coming out of rifle/carbine, such that the velocity (and therefore energy) is high. Trauma surgeons have noted the vast damage that can be caused by high-velocity rounds:

That's related to Parkland, where it was a .223-caliber, which is a relatively low-mass projectile, just like a 9mm.

Of course. If I had the choice of being hit by a 9mm or a 50-caliber bullet, I'd go for the former, assuming matching velocities. But the point the ignorant wingnuts missed, when they dismissed the idea that smaller caliber weapons can still be high-powered, is that the amount of power involved depends exponentially more on velocity than on mass. Twice the velocity and half the mass can still give you twice the force at impact.
If we were obsessed with that bullet, would this be the first time we were broaching the topic? Obsession should be made of sterner stuff.
