I seem to recall the right wing wonks wailing like stuck pigs over ANY liberal/progressive thoughts expressed by actors during an awards events, or screaming bloody murder when the Dixie Chicks publicly expressed shame over the Shrub's bogus war during a foreign performance. And let's not forget the Orange Oaf himself inserting his bloated ass into the Kaepernick fray by stating on camera "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. People like the FastLane are okay with that....but I recall them wailing like Banshees when President Obama commented on the bogus police actions against noted historian Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

My take is that there were numerous factors aside from the obvious ones you mention. Voter apathy, or worse yet spite voting as 'The Mob' members actively organized their Muslim constituents to vote Stein. Biden got blamed by both sides of the Israel genocide issue. Student protests gave us trump. A key voting demographic simply didn't care about anything but teaching the govt. a lesson.
The leftover Covid inflation (cough...rape by corporations) was easily explained and Harris actually did a great job of calling out corporations for taking advantage. But anger over the mass genocide in Gaza was the straw that broke the camel's back. Kids were blinded by rage and once again ignored the damage that trump would do.
They already gave him the Supreme Court. This time around they've really fucked themselves.
