If Republicans do manage a big win tonight... there is a bright side.


It will help Biden, or any other Democrat nominated, to hold on to the presidency. It always helps to have an enemy to run against and especially if Republicans overplay their hand the people will be pissed.

If the Republicans do not overplay their hand, the radical wing of their party... the Trumppers will be pissed.
 
The Republican party’s biggest worry is indictments

They already lost this election


It’s already been a massive turn out


They cant win elections through lots of voting
 
This will be the worst ruling party we've ever seen legislatively. Every party has their nutters - but the GOP's run the nuthouse. They won't be able to reign in their worst instincts.

I agree that there are some factors that indicate the polling that shows a red wave MIGHT be wrong, but then again it might not be wrong. Tonight could go lots of different ways.

But they will not accomplish much without a 60 seat majority in the Senate and with a president who has veto power.

The best the Republicans can hope for in the midterms are narrow majority margins in each house. They'll do the "impeach" thing, but the Senate won't convict. It will be at least a two-year gridlock/shit show followed by a probable blue wave in 2024 for the very reason you stated. Americans are tired of the MAGA bullshit.

I want to see Kevin McCarthy try to reign in MTG, Blowbert, and Gym Jordan. It will be like babysitting children. McCarthy thinks being speaker's going to blow up his popularity. He'll end up having his ass handed to him like the tea-baggers did to John Boener.

It’s my greatest hope, but alas, if Kevin is in charge and he’s propping up MTG and Gym Jordan, I don’t have much hope. The nice thing, Biden will play fair, he will work across the isle to help America.
