"The big picture"

Morality doesn't seem to matter to those AL Republicans.

They just showed a whole series of AL Republicans on the news, who all still plan to vote for Moore, including the governor. Most expressed that they were "troubled" or "concerned" about the allegations, but that it didn't matter: it was much more important to have an extra "R" vote in the Senate.

True colors.

I’m a feminist. I study rape culture. And I don’t want Al Franken to resign.

"I am a Democrat because I am a feminist who lives under a two-party system, where one party consistently votes against the interests of women while the other sometimes does not. I am not a true believer in the party itself nor in any politician. I am a realist who recognizes that we get two viable choices, and Democrats are members of the only party positioned to pump the brakes on Republicans’ gleeful race toward Atwoodian dystopia. "

...

In other words, if we set this precedent in the interest of demonstrating our party’s solidarity with harassed and abused women, we’re only going to drain the swamp of people who, however flawed, still regularly vote to protect women’s rights and freedoms.

...

Isn’t that hypocritical? I hear you asking, Because Republicans won’t do the right thing, we shouldn’t, either? But if the short-term “right thing” leads to long-term political catastrophe for American women, I think we need to reconsider our definition of the right thing.

both sides do it. this is how the world works. neither side gives a shit about morality. we want our goals realized. politics is zero sum game.

it shouldn't be. Back when we used the art of compromise for the common good it wasn't

But yes it is now. picayune and pointless for the most part

Lies!

I'm sure you can find a Dem quote or 2, but that's bull. By a million miles, it's the GOP.

The outrage over the Clinton scandal? Exposed now, in the most glaring way imaginable.

leftists have their own religion but make no mistake they feel every bit as smug and holier than thou as their conservative counterparts. It was that smugness and arrogance that led to their utter shock in 2016.

it was alot of republican and russian cheating

we still won more votes

Really, did the Dems have a Moral Majority?

you absolutely have your own goon squad of moral police telling everyone what the right things to believe are. It's not a traditional religion but it has every bit the same amount of fervor, smugness, and moral superiority.

nobody cares about more votes. people care about winning and actually affecting change. you can have all the votes you want, meanwhile we'll keep putting in judges we like that will last for 30 years. Now who's winning?

What a dodge.

"Smugness" and "arrogance" aren't the same as "moral superiority." You know you're fighting a losing argument here - the GOP has, forever, been the party of "morality" and religious values...
