The Backfire Effect

i'm talking to ib1 who is avoiding my points like a five year old afraid to get spanked

I already addressed them in the other thread and told you the arguments are retarded. You haven't shown any contradiction between the study and what I said. The fact is liberals do not exhibit the backlash effect. Arguing about the sample makes you sound like USFREEDOM911 arguing about how a poll can't possibly represent the larger population. Even if it was a sample of people who strongly identify with one ideology or the other, the trend is no less valid. Your attempts to make any kind of point here are so fucking retarded I was hoping someone else would jump into the thread and give me something more interesting to work with.

you did not even read my posts, your general reply here shows that is evident....

1. the study suggested that a study of the general population is needed, hence, this study is not representative the general population, so not matter how many times you cover your ears and exhibit backfire effect, you saying so is simply not true.

2. while no liberals in this "one" study exhibited back effect, i showed you that the report clearly stated more study is needed on liberals...so the report is not conclusive as to liberal backfire effect except as to those who participated in this study

3. this study also did not tell the participants which information was true or not. as i showed they even distinguished another study that did present the participants with the true or corrective information and in that study people did change their mind and agreed with the true information. in this report, all that is shown is that conservatives distrust the media....they were not told which media was the corrective article, so a valid and strong argument could be made that you're are flat out wrong to claim that conservatives when knowingly given corrective information go into backfire effect.......nothing is further from the truth as this study did not study that.

i've flat disputed your claims about conservatives, you claim that this report is absolute about conservatives is false as the report unambigiously states "the study MAY show......it is not a definitive study....period.

Jesus, you're tiresome. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GENERAL POPULATION IF IT'S REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PEOPLE WHO STRONGLY IDENTIFY WITH BOTH IDEOLOGIES. The theory is still valid. You're trying to make this about each and every conservative, and it isn't. It's about the loons.

2. while no liberals in this "one" study exhibited back effect, i showed you that the report clearly stated more study is needed on liberals...so the report is not conclusive as to liberal backfire effect except as to those who participated in this study

Then show me another study that contradicts it. The backfire effect wasn't exhibited by liberals. That's the bottom line.

3. this study also did not tell the participants which information was true or not.

Wow, conservatives don't trust the media or anyone who delivers REFUTATIONS OF THEIR BELIEFS. THIS ISN'T AN ARGUMENT, you retard.

i've flat disputed your claims about conservatives, you claim that this report is absolute about conservatives is false as the report unambigiously states "the study MAY show......it is not a definitive study....period.

100 percent retarded. None of this comes anywhere near a refutation. It's nitpicking around the fringes hoping to catch something to sink your teeth into.

fact is they were not presented the information as correct or truthful...so your original posts in this thread are wrong. all you lame claims of "retarded" only show you're desperate and exhibiting backfire effect for your claims that i've shown are wrong.....

you whine its nitpicking...but in reality it is the truth...it is not definitive, you calling it nitpicking for me quoting you directly from the study only proves you are backfiring big time...i've methodically laid out the faults in your claims not only with my assertions carte blanche, i also provided you direct quotes from your study and all you do is whine that its tiresome....

if you can't handle the debate, then don't post threads....your claims proven false:

In keeping with the thread I posted the other week about how conservatives are tools manipulated to believe anything they're told, even more evidence of conservative idiocy arises. (Prediction: You'll see some of this effect in this very thread!)

you and others then went off how conservatives when presented with facts go the otherway.....i showed you from your study that they did not know if the facts were corrective or not, IOW, unlike the other studies they were not told the articles were true or not, they did not differentiate between the mock articles and the corrective articles.....

so it is factually false for you and others to claim this study shows conservatives backfire when shown truthful facts...

you failed

That's probably the worst attempt to debunk a study I've ever seen.

Basically your argument comes down to, "It doesn't apply to everyone cause the sample and stuff! They used the word MAY! It's not conclusivvee!!"

The best part about this study is how all this flailing and nitpicking just proves it right.

this was awesome.

actually....this is simply more evidence of you exhibiting the backfire effect....i used the words directly from the study that more tests are needed, such a general population study...and that more tests are needed on liberal issues and liberals....and the word may doesn't mean definitive as you would like us to believe

so you're the one who has made false conclusion from this study, not me, you haven't linked to one thing in the study in all your backfire ranting, whereas, i have given you direct quotes the study....

that speaks volumes, but it is not surprising your liberal sheep slap you on the back and say good job! they actually only prove my point that liberals on this thread are backfiring....both USC and cyborg didn't offer one debate or quote from the article....just slapping their liberal buddy on the back despite a conservative showing you your errors with the study itself.

i honestly expected a little more openess from you after i gave you my open mind and read your report. my bad.

But see, IB1dumbassguy, I never said that A POLL couldn't represent the larger population; I said that your poll DIDN'T represent the larger population.

Now, please stop whining; becuase it's making you look pathetic.

Um, yeah you did say that.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

The US has an estimated population of 306,341,718 and you're trying to say that a poll that used 2034 is accurate. :lmao:

Well I guess it was accurate for those 2034 people; but it in no way is a representation of the US. :readit:

Now I know why you picked the name watermark, it's because you piss the bed over everything that excites you. :tongout:

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

2,034

:lmao:
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

A poll that represents .000006 to .000007 of the entire population is accurate.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Then maybe you can tell me, Zap, how .00006 of the population is an accurate example??

If nothing else, doing so will provide me more amusement and will keep you occupied.

It's embarrassing, I know.

Who admits that they are wrong? We have a thread from yesterday where a Democrat poster, Jarod, claims Obama is responsible for the drop in gas prices from July 2008 to January 2009, while Bush was President. Yet after having numerous people tell him he is mistaken he will not admit it and is adament that he is correct.

Just one example for sure but please save your holier than thou rethoric for someone else.

Caw, I am still waiting for you to show me where I claimed that President Obama is responsible for the drop in gas prices?

Again, where did I claim Obama was responsible for the drip in gas prices from July 2008 to January 2009?

If you were mistaken, just admit it.

Keep your pants on dude I've been on I-5 all freaking day.

Here is the question you originally asked:

"""Does he get credit for the decrease in gas prices? This is a huge drop in Gas prices!!!?""""

My answer:

No he does not get credit for the decrease in gas prices because gas prices have risen while he is in office.

I then added he does not get blamed for the rise in gas prices either.

Pretty simple.

To repeat again Jarod. Not sure what is difficult to understand about this.

And I apologize for "disappearing" and not posting yestersay as I was at the opening day of races at the track in Del Mar. I have never seen a larger collection of beautfiful women, all in sun dresses, in one location. It was un-f*cking-believable. So I was in no rush to get back to the computer to repost what I already said.

Asking if he gets credit is not the same as saying he deserves credit. Can you see that. BTW, I hope you had a great day at the race, sounds like lots of fun.
