The Art of Ignoring the 800lb Gorilla

I don't know about you, but I am going to sleep a whole lot better tonight, knowing they were keeping an eye on this dude! I guess they must've been distracted by a shiny object the day he mowed down 14 people, huh?

I think it is hard to tell how much of what we are getting is legitimate fact, and how much is administration spin, at this point. Obviously, we have a problem when someone this radicalized was even ON a military base! I don't buy that any "they" were keeping any "eye" on him. I think his behavior was reported, and then ignored, up a PC chain of command following the PC policies of the commander in chief and his PC administration.

I am shocked by this, but I am left to wonder, how many more Maj. Hussan's are out there in our damn military? Are we not going to do anything until the next one snaps, and pretend there is nothing we can do? This is typical of liberals, everything is a reaction to what you were too stupid to prevent in the first place, and you continue to stare with that dumb look, claiming you didn't know... no one knew... we couldn't imagine this happening...

Imagine this incident happening under Bush? Does anyone have ANY doubts, the left would be directly blaming this on Bush in the harshest of terms? OMG...We have a full-blown alQeda operative launching the worst terror attack on a military installation inside the us in all of history, and it's all because of Bush incompetence! Look at all the warnings and red flags! Was he in a drunken stupor? Thought he was keeping us safe... so much for that! Can't you all just hear it? The left would be climbing the walls in fits of rage, if this happened on Bush's watch... but Obama? ... *crickets*

I totally agree with you and I also think someone dropped the ball on this guy.
I'm not sleeping any better either, over this.

If this had happened under President Bush, you can bet the house that the public outcry would have been thunderous and the CT's would have said that it was allowed to happen to keep the public afraid.

The bell of Liberal and MSM hypocrisy is ringing loud; but to many have their fingers in their ears, because they don't want to hear it.

Thanks for the info; but what does this have to do with the subject matter of Ft. Hood??
Because just up above you said:

So now that we know it happened you can point me to your examples of it.

Seriously, the point is, it happened before, the guy wrote in his diary about having to make choices about killing Muslims. Yet with all this, no one in the 18th Airborne thought this was an act of terrorism. It was a crime, pure and simple. IF evidence arrises that shows me that the Major was more DIRECTLY involved in radical islamist groups, attended their meetings and there were discussions of actually killing american service members, then I will be the first to jump up and change my opinion, but right now this guy is no different from Hassan Akbar.

I am not willing to just assume so that our government can go on some military witchhunt.

I'm not arguing with you, man.
I'm in agreement.

Since he didn't put any comment with the link, I wasn't sure what his motive was.

Only one of those did what they did for religion or to progress a political cause.

This isn't that hard, the attempt to try to obfuscate and distract isn't really working.

Rubbish.

Religious delusion is a fairly common side-effect of schizophrenia. There's a written record of Hasan's psychological problems, including an increase in religious fixation, that dates back years.

Furthermore, in spite of Hasan's mental health issues, he had clearance to contact al-Awlaki for his research into the attitudes of Muslim soldiers at war with other Muslims.

Instead of admitting that he was a sick man who finally snapped, and that the Army knew about his condition for years but did nothing, CT "analysts" like you have to concoct this absurd Jihadist scenario and call Hasan a terrorist instead of what he rightfully is, a mentally-ill mass murderer.

It's a reflection of your(pl.) biases, rather than a realistic and logical interpretation of the evidence, no matter how hard you try to pretend it isn't.

You defend him every time you open your mouth, you little fuckwit! And yes, we knew almost immediately that he was a Muslim, and that he murdered 14 people on a military base! Now we find out, he was posting radical shit on the internet, he was sympathizing with suicide bombers, expressing support for jihad and opposition to US policies.... but I guess that wasn't enough for someone to question along the way, since he is a Muslim, and to bring anything negative to light, would have been portrayed as judgmental bigotry based on his religion alone.

Yep, all true. You know that we can't say anything about Muslims or our dear president for that matter. That's not politically correct. Sheeesh!!

All we knew was that he was a Muslim and that he murdered 14 people. Are you suggesting that this is enough to qualify it as an "act of terrorism?

YES! You goddamn half-witted ignorant mutherfucker! The fact that he is a MUSLIM and he MURDERED people in cold blood, is enough to qualify it as an act of terrorism, and him as a terrorist! Just what in the living fuck, in your warped little mind, would someone have to do to "qualify" as a terrorist? Listen to Rush? Be a member of a militia group? Perhaps, saw your mother's head off in the living room while you watch in horror?

You better get your pathetic empty head out of your ass, and wake up! These people want to kill us! Do you get that? We are AT WAR with them! If you are going to stand around with your finger up your ass, pretending they aren't terrorists, and things like this don't constitute terrorism, you're going to get us all killed, while you act like a total retard!

are you fucking serious?

Yes I am fucking serious! WTF is the matter with you people? Are you so goddamn brainwashed by the PC Liberal crowd, that you are afraid to call something what it is? I don't get this... YES, when a fucking Muslim mass murders people like this, terrorism is the word we use to describe it. I can't believe I am talking to you like a kindergarten student!

Thank you for confirming that, Dixie. This thread has been very interesting...

Yes, it has been interesting to see just how incompetent liberals are when it comes to terrorism or terrorists. Seems if they don't listen to Rush or work for Fox News, they can't possibly be a terrorist, and probably aren't half bad people once you get to know them. If they happen to be Muslim, well that's even more the reason they can't be terrorists... you people are beyond insane!

How can you keep missing this difference?

I never said this guy could NOT be a terrorist. You said he was DEFINITELY a terrorist, and admitted several times that all you needed to know was that he was a Muslim & that he killed people to determine that.

That's a big difference.

This guy called Al Queda, they wanted nuthing to do with him. He, like Timothy McVeigh and those who kill abortion doctors decided to kill. Is it terrorism, maybe, but home grown terrorism that should be delt with just as it is being delt with.

Noone denied it might be terrorism, the only thing said was that we should wait to hear more facts! Whats wrong with that?

Look, I know this is a real tough concept for your little noodle to grasp, but whenever a Muslim or anyone, for that matter, mass murders people like Maj. Hassan did, it IS terrorism. The fact that he is Muslim, and was consorting with radical Islamic leaders, adds confirmation to the fact that he was a radical Islamic terrorist. Not only am I correct in saying he is a terrorist, he is a radical Islamic terrorist as well, the same kind of terrorist who flew planes into buildings on 9/11. For you, or any of your idiot friends, to continue arguing in favor of Maj. Hassan, insisting he wasn't a terrorist and this wasn't a terrorist act, is beyond any reasonable comprehension of what terrorism is.

Once again, I post a thread making a point, and you pinheads chime in to PROVE my point! Brilliant!

You keep addressing what we know NOW. You know full well that I'm talking about your 1st posts after the incident, when ALL WE KNEW was that he was Muslim, and by virtue of that fact alone, this was definitely an act of terrorism.

You're really not too bright.

LOL... Most of us don't need any more information.... Muslim... Mass murdering people in cold blood.... uhm, TERRORISM! I'm not sure what other sort of 'evidence' you would need, and I wish you would clarify this for me. Are there somehow 'acceptable' non-terrorist incidents where Muslims kill innocent people in cold blood? If so, I am not aware of them... so yes, this WAS an act of terrorism by a radial extremist Muslim, and in 100% of the cases where any Muslim kills innocent people in cold blood, it is safe to conclude it IS an act of terrorism, because there is no other justification for such acts.

I am bright enough to figure that out.
