The Abortion MYTH

But, Sweety, it is you who insists on interfering in other people's lives. It is you and your ilk who are the would-be totalitarians. The only difference between you and the people you mentioned is they dehumanized specific groups of people while you wish to elevate something that is not a human being to the status of one thereby debasing all human beings.

Sounds like a Confederate's argument. The North wanted to interfere in their lives, and comparing blacks to whites is dehumanizing.

Well, just to show I'm a reasonable guy I think your idea has value, however, once again we would be taking away the right of the woman to control her own body by not having the right to refuse the operation.

Personally, I could accept that as an amicable solution but I'm not a woman.
Either way there is an operation, one is to kill, the other to save.

The potential problem I see is, while a woman can give her child up for adoption and sever ties/responsibilities, what's to stop future governments from insisting she pay for the care of the new baby until it is adopted?

Governments consistently seek ways to save money (in theory). What guarantee does the mother or the father have against being charged for support?

Surely one could legitimately argue the bearer of a child should be responsible for that child. That same logic is used, today, concerning child support.

That's the thing with classifying ovum (have to keep Good Luck happy) /embryos/fetuses as human beings. It involves much, much more than abortion.

For example, let's say a pregnant woman participates in an activity and is injured to the extent the pregnancy is lost. Can the estranged husband/boyfriend sue for wrongful death? Can the woman be charged with negligence? (You wouldn't strap a one year old child on your back and go down a ski slope. Why would you do that with a child in your uterus?) Or go boating on a windy day and risk being capsized? Or go hiking on a rough trail? Or do any activity where the likelihood of injury is a possibility?

Opening a can of worms is an understatement.
