If anyone domestic or foreign were worried that the U.S.A. is in the hands of sheer incompetent and belligerent racists and bigots, the performances by the Orange Oaf and his G.I. Joe action figure Secretary of Defense yesterday left no doubt .... America, we are in some serious trouble.
To recap: Defense Secretary (now called the Dept. of War) Pete Hegseth called an incredibly rare meeting of ALL of our military generals from around the world for a "meeting" with himself and the "Commander-in-Chief"
At this "meeting", Trump-icana walks out onto a stage with a recording of "Hail to the Chief" blaring on the speakers. Not one peep from the sitting generals, no applause. Being used to the sycophantic seal clapping and near-orgasmic maudlin noise of his appearances before MAGA events and their crowds, Dump expressed surprise at the sheer silence regarding his arrival.
From there it was downhill, as Trump-icana proceeded to drone on with his usual revisionist BS about every and anything he's done was/is unprecedented and standard setting achievements as commander-in-chief. Problems is all the topics he touched on THE CROWD OF GENERALS WERE ALREADY PAINFULLY AWARE OF.....HAVING MUCH MORE INTIMENT KNOWLEDGE THAN THE FOOL BLATHERING BEFORE THEM.
A complete waste of their valuable time.
But the topper was the follow-up by Hegseth. Strutting the stage like some Sunday morning TV evangelist or some joker do an infomercial pitch for whatever, he proceeded to insult, berate and degrade the audience .... ALL of whom were fully aware of just how unqualified he was to hold his current position. Essentially, Hegseth bull horned every MAGA/Alt-Right grievance against society, using the military as a focal point. He bleating all types of quasi-fascist, war mongering rhetoric that would could find similarity in any recorded speeches of despots and dictators thought out history. The final insult to his audience is when he quotes a book he penned and is trying to sell, as some sort of validation to his diatribe.
Both he and Cheeto Jeezus respectively left the stage as they entered...to the utter silence from the audience.
I could go on, but I thought someone with more gravitas on the topic should be heard. Here's Commander Bobby R. Jones, USN (Ret.) ... a man of whom Hegseth's "qualifications" pale in comparison .... give his reading on the subject:
