The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world

"Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.
In 1986, millions of Filipinos took to the streets of Manila in peaceful protest and prayer in the People Power movement. The Marcos regime folded on the fourth day.
In 2003, the people of Georgia ousted Eduard Shevardnadze through the bloodless Rose Revolution, in which protestors stormed the parliament building holding the flowers in their hands. While in 2019, the presidents of Sudan and Algeria both announced they would step aside after decades in office, thanks to peaceful campaigns of resistance. "

This is what's going to get our country back. Not even most Republicans are going to be fond of trump's thugs murdering peaceful protesters.
Yeah sadly all too often in life bad behavior goes unpunished.

Well you may be right but you guys put up a candidate even you people wanted but you somehow thought she was the better option. Its almost as if you wanted trump to win.
America will be paying for trump's last term for decades. Rebuilding what he destroyed will take a while.

So why did you people put up a candidate not even you people wanted? Just answer the question. We don't need an editorial from you.
I admit the Democrats are not blameless. Biden should never have run for a second term. Would we still have lost if the primaries had the chance to play out normally? I don't know - neither do you!

You're right I don't know but I what I do know is it was decided that she would be the candidate. Why would you put up a candidate that not even you people wanted?

I mean, you keep saying "you" as if it was all my idea. Kamala was the Democratic nominee, and I voted for her. Besides the fact there was no other viable choice for me - I think she'd have been fine. Not the disaster a trump presidency is.

Irrelevant drivel. I'll ask AGAIN why did your party put up on a candidate that even you problem were smart enough not to vote for. Your party circumvented democracy your and could have picked anyone but your party settled on a candidate not even you people wanted. Why?

First of all - let's pay attention to proper English grammar.

I, personally had no control over who the Dems put up other than my vote in the primary and I voted for Kamala - both in the primary and in the general. I'm not the least bit ashamed. The Republicans, on the other hand will go down in history as did the Germans of the 1930's who appeased a demon dictator and either participated in or watched millions die.

Remember that - for all your hatred of anything Democrat it's the Republicans that have shown the ultimate spinelessness in the face of fascsim.
Your party circumvented democracy your and could have picked anyone but your party settled on a candidate not even you people wanted. Why?
"Circumvented democracy"? Holy shit - Biden stepped down. The Dems did what they could to put up a viable candidate with what little time they had before the general.

Remember - You will go down in history as were the German Nazis of the 1930s.
