Depriving homeless people of their last shelter in life is Silicon Valley at its worst.

liberal 1%ers show their true colors and turn on the useful-idiot hippies

LOL
Ken is too stupid to realize where this is happening.

Ken knows. If the Silicon Valley was full of right-wingers he would have titled the thread 'Right-wing hates the poor'. But since he knows Silicon Valley votes Democratic he titles it about 1%'s.

"The waiting lists are years long for the tiny fraction of housing with government subsidies. "

We need to dramatically increase funding for section 8. This has become such an ugly country filled with ugly people. I guess more likely it's always been this ugly...underneath it all.

:rofl2:

Obama should do something....oh wait he keeps adding to the list of unemployed and those on welfare. He has yet to figure out that we need jobs not broken promises and lies.

Why can't you lefties just take them in if you care so much? Open up your hearts. Open up your homes. Don't be so greedy

Low income housing is an interesting story. Shockingly enough it was largely government that created the shortage. My best friend growing up was a family in the low income housing biz. Oddly enough they were loved and respected by their tennents because they kept their properties up would work with them on rent when money got tight even dry them out if they climbed in the bottle. He had a waiting list. And while nit everyone did as much he wasnt the only nice guy. But then the govt instituted regulations in the name of safety which severely cut into what profit there was and since their tennants couldnt produce income to cover it people just quit the business. And then came the lijes kf section 8 and such that basically put government into this business and you see the result. Couple that with efforts to fix up old parts if town (to raise the real estate revenue) and po folks are just a few more cans kicked down the road by typically dem polititians. I watched all this in real time and it was very sad. I used to make a few bucks helping with the routine upkeep got to know the people and it broke my heart to watch it go down. Scariest words ever "im with the government and im here to help".

you may enjoy this huffpost interview with matt taibbi, who claims america has a profound hatred of the poor. He's a taker defender but I still found the interview interesting. I at least agree with him on de-privatizing prisons

they care only enough to keep them at a distance and out of sight. You don't actually expect these hypocrites to walk the walk do you? Can you imagine darla taking in some poor homeless man? lol sure. I wonder when the last time these takers went out during the cold to pass out blankets and hot soup. probably never.

i've legit speculated he's a paid shill and I swear I almost banned him months back because I was convinced he was a bot. I am not making this up.

he almost never argues in threads just posts links. I still think he might be a bot. Or at least mostly bot with some moderate human intervention.

Can a bot follow posters from Netscape to JPP? That is how long Ken has been posting. I knew him from Netscpe and the Rate Bush Board. I started at Netscape when George W Bush became president. I met Darla, Dante's, Zappa, christiefan, cawacko, and a few others shortly after 2001. We have been addicted to political forums for that long.
