Thats how it's done!

Can't argue it on its merits, eh?

Didn't think so. Because it wasn't a war resolution. You know it, and I know it.

You're the hack here, unless you can argue it on its merits. Good luck....

LMAO... yeah... I'm the hack because YOU want to change the topic?

1) YOU stated Bravo was 're-writing' history
2) I asked you what he was re-writing
3) You stated 'he is calling it the Iraq War Resolution implying it is a declaration of war'
4) I pointed out that CNN, a Democratic Senator and left wing site (among many many others) ALSO called it the 'IRAQ WAR RESOLUTION'.... both at the time it was voted on in the Senate and in later years. THUS.... he was NOT 're-writing history' as YOU proclaimed. YOU WERE FUCKING WRONG YOU DISHONEST HACK. So now you are spinning this just as fast as you can to avoid admitting you were wrong to state that.

Aren't you?

I'm not spinning anything. It was either a war resolution, or it wasn't.

If it was a war resolution, explain to me how it was. You can't do that, which is why you keep bringing up CNN & a Democratic Senator.

Explain it. This can all end; explain how exactly it was a war resolution.

Bullshit....there was a little matter of the AGREEMENT made by Bush with the coalition that was very plain from day one....the coalition ABSOLUTELY DID NOT AGREE TO GOING ANY FARTHER THAN EXPELLING SADDAM FROM KUWAIT....The coalition made it clear that occupying Baghdad was forbidden ....

And as usual you didn't read before spouting off.

There was criticism that the US should have taken out Saddam at the time, when we were already in the ME. GHWB explained why he didn't and I posted his comment above. Even cheney said we could have gone in there, but we didn't because we had achieved our objectives without doing so.

cheney's comment:

"I would guess if we had gone in there, we would still have forces in Baghdad today. We'd be running the country. We would not have been able to get everybody out and bring everybody home. And the final point that I think needs to be made is this question of casualties. I don't think you could have done all of that without significant additional U.S. casualties, and while everybody was tremendously impressed with the low cost of the (1991) conflict, for the 146 Americans who were killed in action and for their families, it wasn't a cheap war. And the question in my mind is, how many additional American casualties is Saddam (Hussein) worth? And the answer is, not that damned many. So, I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the President made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq.

You guys miss the forest for the trees. History shows that we left Saddam in power, until bush and his toadies decided to to invade. You can whine all you want about Clinton but he didn't invade, bush did.

You know I try to write clearly, and give people the benefit of the doubt when they question some of my posts, but sometimes I wonder if English is your first language. It's like you and bravo deliberately misinterpret what I post, just to give yourselves the opportunity to slam.

My post wasn't about Clinton or bush43, it was about the fact the GHWB said he could have taken out Saddam, but didn't. What part of that didn't penetrate your pea brains?

This is the quote you attribute to GHWB
"Trying to eliminate Saddam, extending the ground war into an occupation of Iraq, would have violated our guideline about not changing objectives in midstream, engaging in "mission creep," and would have incurred incalculable human and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible. We had been unable to find Noriega in Panama, which we knew intimately. We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed, the Arabs deserting it in anger and other allies pulling out as well. Under the circumstances, there was no viable "exit strategy" we could see, violating another of our principles. Furthermore, we had been self-consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-Cold War world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations' mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different — and perhaps barren — outcome."

Nowhere does he say
he could have taken out Saddam ..... that is a mis-statement.
as a matter of fact, he gives all the reasons why it would not be a wise move and clearly states that
doing so would have exceeded the UN mandate and coalition would have collapsed...

Yes, you ARE spinning.

YOU accused Bravo of re-writing history. He clearly DID NOT. He used a phrase in the SAME EXACT WAY that had been done historically, by a reputable news agency (CNN) and one of the ONLY Senators to vote AGAINST the bill.

You are spinning as fast as your little feet can to avoid admitting that you were wrong. He DID NOT REWRITE HISTORY.

When you grow the fuck up and can admit that you were mistaken or that you lied about that, then we can discuss other topics you wish to discuss.

Joint Resolution

To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq .
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This joint resolution may be cited as the "Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002"

I hate to break it to you pinhead, but the use of US Armed Forces against a Sovereign country is W A R

You just continue to embarrass yourself like a fool...simply put....I'm right and you're wrong....as is the case almost every time I engage in debate with you...
BOTH partys agree, EVERY media out agrees......and your continuing to re-write history with such an obvious lie is laughable....

Thats what the name says....I explained it to you in 107

Now you can call a janitor, a Sanitary Engineer
or the garbage man a Waste Collection Engineer
or the clerk at Walmart a Management Trainie
or killing soldiers in a foreign country, a police action

but the janitor is still sweeping the floors
the garbage man is still picking up garbage
the clerk is still stocking shelves
and the killing of another country;s soldiers is still war....

no matter how clever and cute you think you are with words....whether formally declared or not....

and going OFFLINE was a good move on your part.....

You have been transparent from day 1 on this. When Saddam's statue fell, Dems were on the "wrong side of history," and Bush boldly did what no one else had the courage to do. Now that you see Iraq for what I and many predicted it would be, it was a "war resolution" and "Dems were in on it too!"

Lies, lies & more lies. It's not a war resolution & never was; if you'll notice in all of SF's braying, he refuses to try to argue that on its merits. As do you when confronted with it; all you ever offer is that anytime we use the military, it's war, which is laughable & quite indefensible.

I'm sorry Iraq didn't work out for ya, but it is what it is. You're a shameless hack.....

This is truly quite amusing watching you implode like this.

As I stated, if you wish to CHANGE THE SUBJECT, I would be happy to discuss your topic. Just as soon as you address the FACT that you either LIED or were mistaken when you stated Bravo had re-written history by calling it the Iraq War Resolution.

So what is it going to be Oncelor... are you going to man up and admit you were wrong.... or are you going to continue your desperate attempt to change the topic???

No way in 100 million years I'm going to "admit I was wrong"....because I'm not, as you keep hilariously displaying with your mad spin & refusal to answer my question on whether the resolution itself was a war resolution.

You're a smart guy - I'll give you that. You know it wasn't.

And bravo has gone well beyond merely calling it that; you really have blinders on w/ that dude. As soon as Iraq went south, he has portrayed it as the Dems dragging Bush kicking & screaming into war, with their "war resolution." Yes, he has rewritten history, and I stand by that 100%.

No, I was not wrong. Unless you can say "The resoolution was a war resolution," and explain that on the merits of the legislation itself, I am not wrong. And I am not spinning. I am recognizing the resolution for what it was, which YOU KNOW it was, as well. Spinning is calling it what it was not.

You are spinning. You are the hack. You are the idiot & fool who can't answer the question. You = bravo now.

Congrats.

There's our Sunshine.

By the way, who decided that CNN and a Democratic Senator are the final arbiters of what things are? I missed that memo. The resolution is what the resolution is, regardless of what people may call it.

Oh boy! I love slicing and dicing a christie quote!

Much like we knew about Qadaffy long before? Much like we've been 'buddies' with him all these years?

I guess you think the rationale for war, be it preempting people being massively destroyed with weapons, or regime change, is legitimate in Libya?

The same exact same thing Obama is saying about Qadaffy now, when we have the opportunity to remove him?

You mean, the planting of democracy in the heart of the Arab world actually caused an uprising from the people demanding liberty and freedom across the rest of the Arab world? Yes, that did happen to come true, just like Bush said it would, and we believed it might. But we won't rub that in right now, there is still a lot of work left to do, the radical jihadists aren't going away that easily.

The short answer to this is that the only war I think was justified was WWII.

Congrats.

Then explain to us.... HOW did he re-write history? You told me it was because he called it the 'Iraq War resolution'.... that is NOT rewriting history given its previous use in history. So what is it Oncelor? WHAT are you proclaiming he re-wrote NOW?

Again, you continue to pretend that by somehow stamping your feet that it will somehow change the above. Unfortunately for you... it will not.

Now you proclaim that I am the one spinning???? ROFLMAO.... you truly are desperate. I spelled out EXACTLY where you were wrong.... and you continue to cling to the 'well, answer my unrelated question or else I am still right' excuse.

Bravo > You

Congrats

LMAO.... awww... how cute.... the well known hack comes to support the hack that just stepped out of the closet.

I never stated that they are the final arbiters. I showed Oncelor that Bravo's use of the term was NOT 'rewriting history' as he proclaimed. Given the FACT that it is a reference for the resolution in question that has been used numerous times in the past by those on the right, left and center.

The resolution is what the resolution is ??

Are you defending a fellow or now.....Just spit out.....The resolution IS...."what".......

Everyone in the world knows it is "the Iraq War Resolution"......except Onceler....what about you, mouth ?

Is everyone wrong by Onceler and you.....???? The Congress?, the official name?, the Thomas Register?.., the MSM?....variious politicans?.........????....... Is it a war resolution or isn't it..?????

Now that I've pwned Onceler and Christiefan, I don't mind adding you to the list.

A simple yes or no will do.....
