The normal alignment of politics throughout history is that there are 2 or 3 major powers that are rivalries of one and other. N. Korea is a nothing in that.

So, the world today is going back to a 2 super power rivalry. What's unusual about that? That's the normal state of affairs. After WW 2, it was the US v. Soviet Union. Both had their allied states. Now it's China v. the US and each is gathering up their allied states, or should be. Major ones up for grabs are Russia--which the Left / Democrats in the US are fucking away relations with and India which the US largely ignores.

The other region in flux is S. America. China is making a play to gain influence there while the US piddles theirs away.

This isn't a "Trump" thing. It's an ongoing problem, and one that won't be fully clear for several more presidencies beyond Trump. One thing is clear however. The more the US becomes like W. Europe, the harder the ass fucking will be when the butcher's bill comes due in the future.
 
Russia isn't any kind of a major power. It's what McCain said it was, a gas station pretending to be a super power. All it has is some left over nukes, and it's doubtful many of them even still work. South America is too corrupt to ever become a super power, the closest would be Brazil, and they lack the organizational capacity to sustain a super power infrastructure.

India is quickly replacing Red China as a production center. Red China can't exist without stealing tech and capital from the U.S. and Europe. IT is sliding back down to shithole status. The U.S., however does need to double and triple its military spending if it wants to maintain real peace; otherwise another major war will break out as the Red Chinese use foreign invasions to offset its internal decline.
