Texas Supreme Court allows for arrest of Democrats who don't show up to legislature

So leaving the state is the standard?
:bigthink:

Refusing to show up then for a legislative session then. I can see exceptions to this on an individual basis, but a mass walkout or refusal by one party to participate when they are supposed to is wrong. I can see them refusing to vote for stuff while there.

But what Texas Democrats, and in earlier versions Wisconsin and Minnesota Democrats are doing, is preventing a quorum needed by law to let the legislature function and do anything at all.

So it isn't merely Democrats. Thank you for being honest.

The Dems in DC are trying to subvert Democracy.

How? By voting against the Republicans?

Dude, get a fucking grip; the problem isn't the fucking Chinese or the Goddamn Liberals. You can see the problem in these two graphics regarding population density and party. It's a clash of rural vs urban cultures with suburbians being caught in between the other two.

Do you think the cities are going to get bigger or smaller? More liberal or more conservative?

What isn't clear in the second graph is how many red counties are purplish. The Republican party is no longer an exclusive party, it's the Party of Exclusion. They are shrinking themselves into oblivion. They had a chance to change, but the hate was too strong and they passed. That's when I no longer considered myself a Republican.

Is it better to adapt and change or to stand fast and die like Native Americans against the Yankees?

To me the concept of arresting people for not showing to work is absurd. It smacks of slavery.
The remedy is impeachment, firing or voting them all out.

(If that were legal Trump should already be serving life plus 2,000 years for aggravated dereliction)

Oh wait, am I allowed to downplay this as mere process crime yet?

Dude, all you are doing is proving to everyone why you will end up a bitter old man with a mediocre dead-end job.

If AssHat even bucked the odds and landed that mediocre dead end job, he'd be clearing out his desk 5:00 pm day one after smearing his third bugger under it.

Be honest, your husband is also your first cousin just like your individual mommies and daddies were to each other?

keep spewing you shit little man... you will get yours in the end. Sad you have to pick on a woman like that. I really wonder what you do to your wife.
